We came across 519 SHH on Instagram over summer 2024 and were immediately interested in signing our 5 year old up for their Wednesday Kids classes come the Fall. We reached out to Jim and arranged a visit to meet the team, explore the space and observe a lesson. That solidified it - we were hooked. It was immediately clear that Jim, Greg and David were succeeding in their mission to offer a space for kids that is safe, inclusive, supportive, educational and community-oriented. Their focus on teaching and showcasing the whole of Hip Hop culture resonated strongly with our family. We signed our child up and haven’t looked back. Within the first season alone, their confidence and eagerness to participate grew beyond our expectations. As we look forward to our fourth season with 519 SHH, our visits to the studio have become a highlight for our family and we’re excited for our second child to start classes soon. We can’t recommend this community enough and want nothing more than to see this space grow!

We are absolutely thrilled with the experience our 6-year-old son has had at 519 School of Hip Hop. Enrolled in numerous extracurricular activities, he declares his hip hop classes as his absolute favorite. His private lessons with Jim and David are the highlight of his week. Both instructors are exceptionally professional, talented, and engaging.

Beyond just dance, this studio offers a rich cultural education. Our son has not only honed his hip hop moves but also explored DJing and graffiti, gaining a deeper appreciation for the culture. My son has had such an incredible experience at School of Hip Hop over the past few years! Teachers are kind, encouraging, knowledgeable (all aspects of hip hop culture are covered) and FUN! I've been so impressed with the development and improvement my son has shown and he continues to enjoy each and every class with Jim and all the other instructors. My son started out trying the PD Day camp and was immediately hooked. He's now attending 2+ times per week and it's the ONLY thing he goes to without complaint. He hops out of bed on hip hop hop days, anticipating evening classes! The guys are great role models for embracing and teaching the culture as a whole, and they're great with students of all ages.

The kids were so excited when I picked them up each day, they had a lot of fun with Jim and other instructors.
