My experience with the instructors and aircraft have always been fantastic. The opposite can be said for the front of house / admin. I am always left feeling ignored, unwanted, and belittled while I wait to garnish their attention away from their own personal conversations. Yes, I have waited at the counter for 10+ minutes without anyone checking in one me. It doesn't seem like they receive any training for client relations. There is also a person who works at the front who drives a vehicle with pornographic stickers on it, not really the message I would want to associate with a professional flight school or families.

To summarize, great place if you can make it through the admins!

Went for a discovery flight, flight for my oldest. The staff was amazing, super welcoming. Showed us around and explained different programs. Lots of knowledgeable folks working or just hanging out.

Had the best discovery flight.
If you have ever had the interest in flying a plane you should book one right away! Flying all around downtown Victoria and then back up the Malahat Inlet on a beautiful sunny day was a dream come true!

Bait and Switch with Discovery Flight

I was very disappointed at the unprofessional behavior my friend I had to endure with Victoria Flying Club. We went to an open house on September 18th and booked two Discovery Flights for 125. We went there for the flights on October 2nd, and after the flights we get the bill for 300. Person at the counter then starts explaining that the discounted rate was only for the open house day. No one told anything about this when we were booking the flights or before we went for the discovery.

Anyhow, this incident basically puts Victoria Flying Club in the list of organizations I would never do business with. Such cheap tactics like this makes organizations a non-trustworthy.

BTW, The trainers were very nice and also, I was planning to start my flying classes from Oct 23rd, but dropped it after this incident

Well organized training facility with aircraft available for rental. Maintenance facilities and limited aircraft parking. Restaurant in same building; limited hours.
There is a very experienced inventory of instructors both groundschool and flight. Classroom facilities are adequate to complete the syllabus. The C172s are well used but well maintained.
Pilot lounge and flight planning area. Good Wi-Fi. Aircraft tie downs available for transient aircraft.

Sorry about the photo, I ate half the order before I took the photo. This is the CBC wrap....chicken, bacon and Caesar. It was delicious and filling. The fries are crispy and delightful. Another successful meal. Sitting outside on the patio, we were able to see and hear the planes coming and going.

I've tried to contact the flight club several times to inquire about flying lessons and why they charge an application fee. I've flown at several other clubs and never heard of an application fee.
No one has ever bothered to reply back.

We had a great sightseeing tour today! Peter did an amazing job. Flight was very smooth and checked on me often as I get motion sick.

We toured over the gulf islands up to Ladysmith, over chemanus and Duncan. Over our personal home, and continued to tour over Victoria.

It was a surprise for mine and my husbands 20th anniversary. Thank you so much Peter and the fly club. My son and husband will be back for discovery.
