Yesterday I was a Day Care Surgery patient at your hospital. I was greatly impressed from the minute I entered the hospital, clean, tidy, no clutter etc. The Receptionist at DC was so efficient & friendly. The nurse who greeted me & did vitals etc. very friendly & efficient. All of the staff members were very busy, but did their jobs in a happy, friendly & efficient manner. The Team work amongst them was phenomenal. The Orthopedic surgeon, the anesthesiologist, The OR Nurses also took the time to explain what their function was on the Team & what to expect before & after the surgery. Having worked in Health care myself for 22 years I know great, fantastic care when I see it. This Team of Health Care Professionals excel at their jobs! Thank you so very very much!

I had a wonderful experience here. I was in to a room being seen by a nurse withing 15 minutes of arriving, and out of the hospital after 2 hours. This was including removing a nail from my hand, and getting xrays. Everyone was very nice and it has to have been my most pleasant experience at a hospital so far. 10/10, will injure myself again.
Also shout out to the nurse, Marena, who took me to my room for making a hilarious joke that went way over my head until I got home.

The worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. Took my daughter for day surgery & they made me to drop my 4yr old off for surgery and pick her up at the doors when she was awake. The nurse that took her in was rude from the get go. They wouldn’t let me be with her going into her first surgery that she was terrified for. The nurse that brought her to us afterwards had ZERO info about how it went and couldn’t answer any questions just tried to get us to leave. When we went back in to get answers, they referred us to the same nurse that had no answers. Such poor communication, little to no compassion for what was happening & made me a very angry Mama bear.

Just wanted to quickly write this review to thank the staff at Saanich Peninsula today:
Both my nurse Jessie and Dr. Tam were incredible. In 6+ years of having chronic back issues, these were the first care staff I’ve ever dealt with who took my issues seriously, talked to me with compassion, and actually helped me figure out next steps (down to how to get safely back on the Mainland). I came in stressed and unable to move—I left the hospital with a new pain management strategy (instead of hearing the usual “Advil, Tylenol, and rest” spiel that I’ve heard 1000x from everyone from my GP to physiotherapists), and for once felt empowered upon discharge, not discouraged.
Cannot thank you enough.

The lady at the medical imaging reception has no sympathy. I was there for a CT scan which requires whole day prep the day before, I arrived early because this was my first time and didn’t know the process. I asked her a question and her answer was condescending like I was wasting her time. Unprofessional to say the least. The technicians on the other hand were so nice, the lady should really learn from them how to do your job properly.

Nurses are extremly rude and are to busy talking about how they have another job and the job they have now. Like I understand talking and enjoying your shift, I'm all for it but when I had to wait 1 hr for a iced pack it's ridiculous. The Dr as well is extremely rude and he definitely discriminates.. oh yea! Talk about how the Nurse was behaving so poorly she was complaining about another patient. I'm sorry but it's supposed to be confidential not gossiping to everyone about them... I will not be going back and will take the extra trip to VGH because they dont know how to treat humans

Staff take so long gossiping about patients (leaking confidentially)they don't get to treat the patients till their already dead. The Dr here doesn't like to work you he will only treat you for Flus and colds. Maybe a broken arm anything else and the Dr turns you away. Which is fine because VGH was way friendlier and quicker and followed the note from my privious Dr's also VGH doesn't lie to there patients like San pen does. Overall they should either fire all the staff because they are beyond rude and constantly making fun of patients.... do better your supposed to make people feel better not you pockets feel heavier

I was welcomed by a cheerful student nurse, Marcelo, who took my info and expertly and painlessly found a vein in my skinny old lady hands. Jane kept me relaxed with gentle humour. After the operation Corrin distracted me with conversation until the pain subsided and I could go. Dr. Camus was pleasant and competent and let me know he would follow up. Listening to the crews chat, I was impressed with the happy atmosphere.
