I will start with the things that impressed me:

Service: The lovely woman who greeted me and took my order was perfect. Friendly, chatty and accommodating of my last minute addition to my order.

Restaurant: Appeared clean, organized and very bright. I loved the macrame decorations.

Now for the food.

I ordered the 6oz "steak" with corn and sliced tomatoes. I was disappointed that salad did not come as an option for a side, but that's not really the point losing issues.

Before tip, the meal and drink came to $30. I wasn't expecting The Keg, but I also wasn't expecting what I got.

The 6oz of steak was at least 3oz of gristle and fat, honestly looked like a piece I would have personally cut away from a larger cut of meat and preparedfor my doggos; honestlynot trying to be rude - we give ends to the dogs for real.

Also, it was seasoned with Indian spices. (Not that I mind Indian spices, but not on my steak...) the mushrooms seemed to also be prepared with the same spices. Again, not a dig at Indian spices. I just feel like if you're serving Canadian and Indian food, you should ask whether the person wants traditional seasoning for their steak and mushrooms or if they'd like the Indian spices. Medium rare was more rare than medium but I don't mind that once in a while. I'd prefer that to more well done any day so no lost points there.

I didn't realize the meal came with garlic toast - which would have been tasty if it hadnt been half toasted (more bread than toast) and then packaged with the steak where it soaked up the liquids from the resting meat.

The tomatoes were fresh, however, 2 of the slices had the core of the stem attached. Not a huge deal but also for the sake of serving edible food, you may want to use these parts for other things like salads/sauces.

I really hate that the food was this disappointing because my hopes were high after looking through their Facebook page.

I would suggest either hiring someone to take pics of what you serve or taking your phones and snapping some as they're prepared. Using stock photos for food is bordering on false advertising when the food you're serving is nowhere near the quality you're portraying online.

I would be willing to try this place again on another trip to Nanton since I know now that you use these spices in more than just your Indian food.

Again service was great! Waited less than 15minutes and enjoyed the atmosphere/staff.

June 20th update: came in for supper. Ordered lots of food both to stay and to go.

GAME CHANGER! IN HOUSE MADE VEGGIE PATTY on the veg burger! You just earned your 5th star!

I went in at 10am for the standard veggie omelette and hashbrowns breakfast.

I was the only one in there besides one other guy having coffee. The food was really well prepared, tasted good.

The server, she was one of the nicest, sweetest and friendliest people I've ever met, and for working alone on the floor while juggling her many other tasks she did a great job.

Interior is older but in very nice condition and I liked the charm of it.

My only criticism would be there portions could have been a little more for the price. By like 25% more portion.

I had a classic breakfast, and the hash browns were amazing! They had a delicious Indian spice on them. My husband's dish came with a side of pickled chilli peppers. The owners grow their own peppers from India for this. Spicy and very flavourful. The waitress/owner gave us a little container of it to take home, which was very sweet. The menu was very large, a combination of breakfast, Indian and basic western food. I'll definitely come back next time I'm driving through.

We have had both the western and Indian cuisine here breakfast and dinner... all are incredible!! The deluxe salad is the perfect size and my husband tried the Rajma Chowal ...both were delicious and very filling!! ( the Rajma Chowal has a little heat to it but my husband loved it) The service is always awesome, friendly, clean, welcoming atmosphere one of our favorite places to go!!

Delicious! We had the Vegetable Samosas and Aloo Pakora to start, the dipping sauce with the Pakora was lovely. My partner had the Beef Kadhai (w/ naan and rice) very flavourful! I had the Kolkata Style Kathai Roll, first time having it and it was the perfect mix with the chicken, veg and sauce. Our little guy had the chicken fingers and fries which he said were “amazing” ?. Wonderful, friendly service. They’ve redone the interior, it looks wonderful.

The staff was super nice and friendly. That's where my positive review stops. Ordered the beef burrito (which had rice in it as well). There was hardly any beef, it was all rice. The rice was extremely dry (but flavourful). There was a dead cockroach on the windowsill next to our booth. Once I seen that, I stopped eating, paid the bill and left. I didn't finish my meal. Very run down and dirty place. Only positive is staff is really nice.

We're embarrassed that we didn't ask our server what her name was because she was lovely and she had such a sweet smile. I've never had deep fried paneer before and gosh darn it was good. We are big fans of NAAN. This was good NAAN The butter chicken combo was perfectly spiced.
Very reasonably priced.
We'd burn our lips for this food. We didn't. But we would.

Went here for breakfast. It was a good portion for the price. Really nice staff. I got an omelette that was very big and filling. My husband got the breakfast poutine which he loved. He loves Indian cuisine and the poutine had a nice touch of Indian spice. He absolutely recommends it. Adorable decor and lovely atmosphere. Overall we would for sure come here again.
