I’m currently in my last quarter of their Audio Engineering and Production program, and I loved it.

The teachers in the audio program are all very knowledgeable and helpful. They all have real world work experience in audio and it shows in all the little tricks they teach you.

If you are interested in music I would recommend taking the full 18 month program, you learn about mixing and mastering in quarters 5 & 6. These skills aren’t touched on very much in the earlier quarters.

This program is Very Intense, from songs due every week to 11 weeks to recreate all the audio from a short film. It takes a lot of time management and dedication to succeed.

This program builds your knowledge from the ground up, so even if you don’t have any knowledge in music or audio, you won’t be at a disadvantage.

Once again, I highly recommend it if music or audio is the industry you wish to go into.

If you're looking for the next step in your life that will lead you to many new opportunities, learning curves and a great family of friends, this may be the school for you. Decided to take the 18 Month- Filmmaking course one random day, and It without a doubt, was the best decision I've made. You learn a variety of things and with the smaller classes, it becomes easy to grow with what you want to pursue, while still learning in the other areas you may be curious in. I got lucky to be a part of an amazing group of people and learn from a well experienced selection of professors who make you feel important and inspired through-out the time you spend. Even after graduation, they helped me get a job on a film set that has already hired me for other films! Overall, I would 100% recommend this schools film course and say to go in with as much passion and drive as you can, as it goes by quick and you'll most likely graduate, wanting to do it all over again. At least I do... best experience and best people. 2022 Grad!

If you're thinking about going into the Filmmaking course DO IT! As long as you're driven, passionate, and determined to work hard for what you want. I came to this school knowing I wanted to peruse video editing/post production and that's exactly what I did!

About the professors:
Victor gave me endless support, offering valuable knowledge and guidance. He put me outside of my comfort zone and helped me unlock my skills in other areas of filmmaking. Victor recognized my ability to work not only in post-production but also in pre-production as a director. One moment that really stood out to me was when I finished my documentary. Feeling nervous about sharing it, I only shared it to Victor and Henrietta. This documentary was a passion project, experimental with it's structure, and a little political. Victor and Henrietta gave me the push I needed in order to fully share it. Their kind words and encouragement are something I'll never forget.

Henrietta is an incredible professor and writer, who has helped refine my writing. She ensures that everything, from scripts to emails, are polished and professional. Henrietta's attention to detail is extremely on point. She dedicated a lot of time and effort to thoroughly read and analyze each piece of work I wanted advice on. I can confidently say that Henrietta is the best writing teacher I have ever had.

I could keep writing about the amazing professors in the Filmmaking course, but this would be an extremely long review.

About the course:
This course provided me with hands-on experience and connections. Especially when it came to being on set, I got the chance to work on actual movie sets as a production assistant and eventually made my way up to being an assistant make-up artist! Furthermore, Victor has helped me make an incredible connection that led me to a job as a video editor after I graduated.

Overall, I'm extremely thankful that I decided to go to this school. I was able to explore various job opportunities and establish meaningful connections with industry professionals. I learned proper procedures, set etiquette, and to adapt to the fast-paced nature of the industry. If you're interested in becoming a filmmaker, I fully recommend going to this school.

As someone who is autistic and queer, I travelled all the way from Saskatchewan - by myself - to attend this school and it was one of the best experiences in my life! The level of support that student services here provide is absolutely immaculate and fast (counselling, life skills, conflict resolution, career stuff, finances, everything!), the professors are incredibly kind hearted and passionate, and the people you meet here will be lifelong connections! If you like to jump on opportunity, this is truly a gold mine for anyone who is willing to put in the work. They see you as a person, not a number, and they will teach you the vital real life lessons that no other school will teach.

Had a great experience at the school. The program is very well organized and in-depth with audio engineering. I went into the school knowing nothing and left feeling very confident with anything audio ! The head teacher Chris Holmes is awesome and taught me a lot ! If you have any questions regarding the school, future jobs, or just ordinary questions, you can always email Randal and he is there to help you. All in all, every teacher and staff member is intelligent, helpful, and instructive, with awesome outgoing personalities. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting go into the audio business

Attended the Film Program and and graduated and I was very excited to be a part of the family. Victor runs an amazing program as the department head and instructor and has a solid group of other instructors who are very knowledgeable running the classes alongside him. I was consistently impressed with the level of dedication from them and the time spent to help students get the best experience and knowledge base possible. In addition to the great teaching, the help with finding work after graduation also impressed me as many opportunities came around for all students. I was very happy with my experience and am very happy with my new career direction.

I had the opportunity to attend the Centre for Arts and Technology’s 18 month digital film making program. This was honestly one of the most brilliant experiences I’ve had in education. Hands on learning from an amazing staff that truly cares about each one of their students. We learned in depth all the steps of film making from pre-production to production to post-production and more. I’ve truly never had so much fun learning each day, and the community around creates such an amazing atmosphere. While in school you’re able to connect with people currently working in the industry, while also building an impressive portfolio with each completed project to impress those potential employers. After graduating I was lucky enough to be hired straight on to a movie set as a 2nd AC. And I wasn’t the only one. As I looked around the set there were three from my grad class working. And there will be four of us on the next movie.

All of this is credit to the amazing staff at CATO and program they’ve created. If you’re wanting to go to film school go to CATO. You won’t regret it.

I had nothing but great experiences at CATO. All of the instructors are friendly and want nothing but the best for their students. With each instructor being a professional in their given field, I feel that I have learned each aspect of the filmmaking process in great detail. The highlight of the course for me is the blend between hands on material and theory. We always had access to the schools gear and could practice with it in and out of class. Even after graduating, the instructors have helped me find jobs in my field of choice. The Centre for Arts and Technology has given me the skills and resources I need to begin my career in my industry.
