I go to this school and it is fantastic! The teachers are amazing and kind! And the CDA’s are super helpful. The office is polite and wonderful. This is an awesome school!

First and foremost, the lack of communication from the administration is appalling. Important announcements regarding school events, changes in schedules, or even academic updates are often conveyed at the last minute or not at all. It's incredibly frustrating to feel left in the dark about what's happening in my child's education.

Furthermore, the quality of education leaves much to be desired. The curriculum seems outdated and uninspiring, failing to engage students or foster a love for learning. Teachers appear overworked and under-supported, resulting in a classroom environment that lacks enthusiasm and creativity. My child often comes home bored and disinterested, which is disheartening to witness.

The school's disciplinary policies are also cause for concern. Instead of employing effective and compassionate methods to address behavioral issues, punitive measures seem to be the norm. Punishing children for minor infractions without addressing the root cause only perpetuates a negative cycle and fails to promote positive behavior. I would not recommend Northcott Prairie School.

Staff do not appear to be focusing on student-centered learning or care. The classrooms lack proper supervision, and the administration appears to lack any understanding of what is taking place inside the classrooms.

This is not an environment that I would be comfortable placing children in given their track record for allowing bullying and focusing on being right over doing what is right for their students.

This isn't a review of the school. This is the review at the playground at the school. This park is awesome! It's very big so there's lots of different features and can hold quite a few kids. This is not a toddler park, but does have some features to entertain your toddler should you bring them here.

- wide ramp on to play structure is accessible to those with reduced mobility or toddlers + parents. Does have wide stairs with railings so smaller kids might be able to pull themselves up. It is also wide enough to tempt kids to ride their scooters up there but they can't get far.

- several slides (metal). Two face north and one faces west, but they were all hot to the touch by 11 am at 17C. The curly slide is quite angled and my child-bearing hips could not comfortably go down with a toddler. The straight slides are ok. All slides have high quality crash mats at the bottom.

- lots of educational features: map of Canada, alphabet+braille, puzzles. Good to distract your little ones.

- TONS of hanging, balancing, climbing, swinging parts. This park seems to be designed to work on balance and climbing! An amazing standalone net rope climbing apparatus and two standalone smaller climbing boulders with fake fossils, and another climbing wall to get on to one part of the play structure.

- great for Grounders IF your child(ren) are able to balance and jump easily.

- There is a tipi climbing apparatus, so could be a good place to chat about Treaty 7 and test your kids if they can name the indigenous peoples who share their land with us

- Good parking after school hours and on weekends. There is street parking but you might have to run across the sports fields.

- very large sports fields on one side

- paved area that is not the parking lot (I wasn't looking for basketball hoops but it likely had them). This could be good if someone wants to ride their scooter/bike in circles while another one wants to play tag.

- woodchips everywhere

- no shelter, but a few benches
