I had a big knee surgery with Dr. Buchko and am so grateful I was sent to this hospital for my recovery after surgery. Dr. Buchko is unbelievable, my knee feels amazing and the stitches are well done, I will have minimal scaring. The anesthesiologist was knowledgeable and direct (which I really appreciate because I was very nervous and scared and her being direct helped avoid confusion). She has many years of experience and when I was faced with the decision to be fully put under or do the spinal block (which you still go to sleep for), she gave me the information I needed to feel secure to make a decision. l choose the spinal block and I am so happy I did, as it was easier on my body to come out of, which I have had issues in the past. It also was more helpful for pain management in my opinion.
The hospital was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable. The nurses were friendly and caring. They were busy as is expected, so making sure I communicated with them and showed them empathy and compassion towards their high pace job went a long way. I was taken care of so well and had lots of laughs with all of them. I worked with them to make sure my care was top notch and I am grateful for the experience and care I received, rather than going home and having to do it all on my own. Kindness goes a long way. They are people too in a flawed system, so don't forget that when staying there or anywhere.

Lab Services are 10/10. Always such a pleasant visit, typically on time or early. It's one of the only appointments that you can book during a work break and know that timing will work perfectly. Such a great service to have in our small town.

I visited the hospital on Christmas for an emergency. Dr. Jamie, along with nurses Geenie and Heidi, provided incredible care and support throughout my visit. I’m especially grateful for the wonderful news they shared with me. Thank you so much for your wonderful help and kindness. 🙂

Surgeon was good, however everything else about this hospital was horrible.
Avoid this hospital unless you are in an emergency. It was all money minded. Especially if you are coming from overseas and the moment, they find out that you have insurance, it’s all about money.
Nursers were horrible. They are in the wrong profession. I have lived in 4 countries but never experienced this type of service in a hospital. I fractured my leg in Banff and paramedics (absolute gems) took me to this hospital. Once I reached the emergency room, I was waiting in pain for a long time. I was in so much pain and my friend tried to get them. They said that they are busy, but we could obviously see they were not busy.
Surgeon – Dr Heard was good. He did the surgery to me. Dr Heard did a great job with my surgery. However I never received operative notes even after so many follow up with his office.
After the surgery, I received very bad service from most of the nurses here. Having said there were couple of nurses who were amazing.

Excellent ACL surgery experience. I had torn my ACL a few months ago and was waiting for my paperwork to file into the hospital to get onto a waiting list for an upcoming surgery with Dr. Buchko. I had Ruby from scheduling call me a few weeks ago informing me that I was finally approved on my paper work and she would put me down for surgery and a possible last minute cancellation. The team and Ruby had called me two days later letting me know they had a cancelation and had a spot for me, letting me know my surgery would be in a week in comparison to two months. To be frank I could have cried on the phone, as someone who commutes via walking and for personal therapy having my knee back in place was such a key point to my mental health and having the team process everything so quickly I am so grateful for.
I have unfortunately had some past negative experiences with hospitals and my visit with Banff Mineral Springs Hospital was night and day, they have completely replaced my initially anxious mind as their staff were exceptional in all areas.
Shortly after arriving they had me in my room (lovely view of the mountains and river side) and suited for surgery after being introduced to the lovely staff, everyone went into full detail regarding what to expect and answered all of my questions.
They had me ready to go within two hours and had me in a calmer state pre surgery.
I later woke up to a mama bear and baby cub playing outside of my windows and to gf snacks.
As much as I have appreciated everything the nurses (names started with k and n, however have slipped from my mind!) as well as doctors including Dr. Nielsen had done to make my stay comfortable I do hope this is one of the very few time I have to step inside their hospital, as well kept as it is. That being said I have never had a more pleasant interaction and aid within the medical system and am grateful for the staff and everything they have done. Thank you to Dr. Buchko and the team for everything.

I forget what it means to be canadian sometimes and the staff has reminded me with their kindness multiple times through out the week even when I was reffered to a diffrent hospital in calgary and sylvan lake.
Thankyou for helping me with my insanely painful injury, and I would like to thank all the staff that made it easy for me to get my injury fully checked out.

My review is just for lab services at this hospital. I’m glad I work here so I can access this lab instead of labs in Calgary. I’d rather go here even if it means that I have to go before work . I like the quiet atmosphere of this place . The lab tech is a familiar person because there is only one full time tech or so it seems to me . The ones I’ve met on days she isn’t working are nice too . The appointments are always on time . There are frequently delays in high volume labs in the city . Today I also noticed there are free colouring sheets in the ER waiting area beside the lab so I took one for home . I think that’s a nice gesture even if it’s supposed to be for the kids . I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years and will continue to do so despite having to get up early to go to lab appointments.

Wait times are horrendous. Staff just chatting away with each other. Can't imagine coming in with something more serious. You'd be waiting in pain for a long time.

Much better time in the hospital in Golden, BC.
