I recently visited the education center for the Calgary board of education.

I was requiring assistance in contacting the correct people in the organization regarding services.

Upon entering the building I was confused and uncertain where to go.

James, who worked as a security guard that day, could see that I was confused and redirected me over to him and to Linda who was also working at the desk alongside James.

I spoke to Linda and James for a short while as I needed to understand how to navigate the Calgary board of education communications system and how to communicate with who I needed to get in touch with.

James, although he was focused on his work, was clearly quite attentive to all people actions and otherwise as his role is to be security for the building.

James did not say much but I could tell he was paying attention and he proved to be quite useful in offering complimentary guidance.

Linda was able to assess what I needed very quickly and through her knowledge of the system recommended I contact particular groups of people as she mentioned that the CB has a lot of various departments and you can easily get lost in the communications aspect.

Not only was both of their service. Incredible and genuinely appreciated, I told them that I'm extremely grateful for the fact that they were the two that were helping me that day.

Even though they said it was their job to do so, I let them know that doing a job and doing a job truly meaningfully well can be a meaningful distinction.

Both of their service was exceptional and truly remarkable in the way that they were able to multitask what they needed to do, but also were able to still make me feel seen, heard and accommodated.

I asked them both if they would permit me to add their names to this review and they both complied in being willing to be added.

So to both of you, Linda and James, a big thank you once again from me Jeremy.

I am truly honored to have met both of you and I am proud of the fact the CBE has the two of you on the front lines.

I had a fantastic experience at this education center. The staff was welcoming and went out of their way to assist, including providing a translator for my mom and letting me charge my phone. Miss Wendy was especially impressive; she was very understanding, had an infectious laugh, and a great personality. Highly recommend for their exceptional service and friendly atmosphere.

This school makes living in this area absolutely awful. You can hear kids screaming at all hours of the day and the screams carry down the whole street. Worst area for a school.

Also the amount of times I see the kids leave the gated playground without any supervision or anyone realizing ids crazy.

I’ve seen kids RUN INTO THE STREET to retrieve a ball that had gone over the fence and none of the adults thought to go out and get it.

Hope we don't have to visit this office again. We still remember the experience we had. We were made to wait for hours together making sure our 6yrs old kid stayed well behaved just to say we were actually not required to be there. As previous reviewers have mentioned, even we heard them say that some kids English accent is really bad. What kind of ignorant staff is this ? No respect for others culture or time. Before training the kids, I think CBE should train their staff to treat the parents well ! Just because we are immigrants , doesn't mean they can treat us like fools.

I would give it a half-star if I could. The old white man was racist, spoke to me in a condescending tone, had anger issues and was angry when I asked him to clarify something.

When I looked at the education that was taking place here in Clagary, I was utterly shocked how this was even possible. Not only are the teachers underpaid and have no knowledge of the subjects being taught, they don't even make sure that the kids in schools get taught basic morals of being a human being. If a kid for example gets pushed and then the other kid gets pushed back, the teachers send both to the office and then the kids also lie about who pushed first because they were never taught the basic morals! This way of managing schools, teachers and kids is completely wrong and should be absolutely illegal. I have been considering to sue the board for many things they have done wrong with another group of people that has the exact same view as me. We live in Canada and we should have the right to proper education and managing of school funds! But as I have seen first hand, the Calgary Board of Education just can't properly do either. Needs a complete re-work in all ways imaginable. This is a complete joke.

It was grateful experience. All CBE staff members are very cooperative and attend you with smiling face and heart. I am not sure about the school they suggested me for my son. Just worried about that. Will see what happens. Other things about cbe 👍

Gorgeous venue and delightful service, with food to boot! The crab cakes were the best I've ever had. My wife Margeret was considering divorcing me until I took her to this fine establishment. I cannot stress enough how magical this place is!
