Everyone from booking staff to counsellors were patient, helpful and understanding. They helped us through the paperwork and applications and billing. But their greatest work was with our child who came away glowing with the success, friendships and fun he had at camp. Communication was great and everyone seemed equipped to meet the kids where they were at. It’s built a lot of confidence and joy for a kid that has worked hard but not always enjoyed the results. I can’t recommend Amicus and Foothills enough.

My family live in the Parkdale community near this school for the last 13 years and have been enjoying the welcoming spirit of this school by coming to its playground. Sometimes we even meet kids who attended the school during their outings as well. It’s an opportunity for the community to learn and embrace this school with its openess, and also an understanding (which I get to talk to my kids about) the importance of an equal learning opportunity for everyone even with different challenges.
The last 2 years we found that the playground area has been fenced up, locked and lots of signs to veir anybody in. It is no longer the welcoming nor inviting space within the community. It gives a clear message that it is not a community friendly school even though it’s located in the midst of a lovely Parkdale community. Such a shame!

Our experience at Foothills Academy has been exceptional. The quality of education provided is outstanding, and the school has done an excellent job addressing our child's specific needs. We've seen remarkable growth in our child's confidence, self-esteem and self worth, thanks to the nurturing environment and skilled teachers. The sense of community at FA is truly special, and we feel fortunate to be part of it. Highly recommend for any family who sees their child struggling with an LD.

That was really good! I feel like a gained a couple nuggets that I can use in the future with my kiddos.
I wish it was longer and she could have spoke more on the ADHD. There was definitely pieces that I can apply to my ADHD children, but I feel like there was something missing. Perhaps if it was longer, and we could have had time for more group discussions, I would have filled in a few things that I was searching for.

My daughter was accepted into Foothills in Gr 5. Prior to that, with her learning challenges, I was concerned whether or not she would be able to graduate from high school. Now, she is entering gr 11 having received academic awards and preparing for courses so she can attend University.
She has learned how to advocate for herself and feels so much more confident in learning new subjects and tackling exams.

Before attending Foothills, I felt helpless to tutor her with any school work especially math. The teachers have been exceptional and they have been so supportive anytime shes needed additional help.

Investing in my daughter’s education gives me so much hope and peace that she’ll be able to have options in post secondary and career choices.

My son is going into his 4th year at Foothills Academy. This school has changed our lives in so many positive ways. Each year our sons confidence has grown to unmeasurable levels. The staff are wiling to go above and beyond to help each child succeed. We are forever grateful for their knowledge, hard work and dedication.

ADHD and learning disabilities run through our family. Both of our children were struggling. When we choose to put our kids into Foothills Academy it was the best thing we ever did for them! They have learned many tools to help them with their learning disabilities, they have gained life skills. This school has provided them with opportunities to flourish and expand where in the public system they were lost. Foothills Academy is the best choice we ever made!

Foothills Academy Society is a wonderful organization that is truly committed to making a difference and providing support and resources to those with Learning Disabilities and ADHD.

I cannot recommend them enough for those looking resources and workshops related to LD/ADHD needs.
