I wanted to support a local business, but I would stay away from Coaldale Nurseries if I knew how they do business. I bought over 600$ in firewood for my wood burning stove. At least 1/3 of the load was finger sized sticks and bark. When my wife phoned, they basically told us to get lost. I've bought tons of wood before from local sources, and this was by far the worst experience and quality.

I went there today to buy some perennial grasses and maybe a shrub. Two workers were outside mostly on their phones, nobody offered to help. I grabbed what I wanted and went in to pay. Nobody was inside to ring me through so I went out to ask one of the staff, I said hey can someone ring me through? He proceeded to walk right by without acknowledging my existence. Maybe he didn't hear me but he must have seen me standing there looking confused. I drove away without buying anything because I was frustrated. Get it together.

We worked directly with David the owner. We found him rude and would not budge on our expected refund. Three separate employees told us to come in and get a refund and he said “They don’t know what they are talking about, I own the place”. Not on the same page at all!!! The load of birch wood we purchased was full of junk, and lots of black mold. There is no weigh scale so you really don’t know how much you are getting. If you need firewood, go to Markim near the evergreen golf course. Friendly, accommodating and the wood comes nicely stacked in a landscape bag. Delivery is available.

Save yourself the time and money and go to Green Haven! (Wish I could rate a 0)

Staff are rude and incredibly unhelpful. I walked around for about half an hour and not once did I get a, hello, can I help you, a smile or even an acknowledgment of my presence. When I did walk over to them and ask a question about a particular shrub, all they could tell me was its size dimensions and that it needs full sun, both pieces of information I could and did get from the tag. The lack of signage also makes it super difficult to navigate to the plants you are looking for.

Aside from that, so many of the plants were in horrible shape, half dead (in some cases dead dead!) full of weeds, underwatered, overwatered, buggy ect…

I don’t normally shop here to begin with as I choose not to support those who do not support women. They are very vocal with their ANTI- WOMEN, PRO-FORCED BIRTH narrative which is absolutely repulsive. I only went as I was on the hunt for a specific shrub that Green Haven had sold out off, but given this knowledge and my experience I walked out empty handed even though they did happen to have the shrub I was looking for.

Not happy with my purchase. When I contacted the office the staff that address my concern basically said too bad so sad. Guess I should have read the reviews first!!!

I have attempted to support local and shop here first, however I will not be returning.

After purchasing large quantities of landscaping gravel for different projects, I ended up shy of approximately 6-8 bucket’s worth, close to a 1/4 cube, required to complete.

They refused to sell anything less than a cube worth.

Save yourself the hassle. Site One Landscape supply in West Lethbridge will sell you any amount you require, even a single pail full.

Also worth noting, a cube of the same rock elsewhere was almost $50 less/cube

We bought a tree today and let the staff know we were driving to Medicine Hat with the tree in the trailer (150 km) . Staff said it should be fine and they do not have any wrap as protection or any string to help stop the tree from rolling around. The staff told us if we started losing leaves during the transport to slow down.

We did stop and pick up some supplies at Home Hardware to help protect the tree. Thank goodness we did because any leaves that were not covered were shredded.

I'm not a big reviewer- but oh man- I try and I try with this place. I try to support this small local business, but over the years they have given me nothing to work with. They tote a warranty policy that they do not honour- had two dead trees in two years. Oh also- if they sell you a dead tree, you are responsible for the delivery of a new one $200+. They interrogated me on every aspect of care, only to tell me, "well who knows how you treated the tree- it shouldn't have died". If you're going to spend THOUSANDS on trees from a nursery, you need there to be some confidence. The owners are dismissive and rude, and hire young teen girls who just have no idea what's going on. When you ask to speak to someone who can give you some advice, the owner is cranky and condescending. Save yourself the headache and go up HWY 3 to Green Haven or call Bos Nurseries. Also, the offensive political signs all over the fence line is a real deterrant now.
