The owners of this store are constantly asking for input from their customers to improve what they offer and give people what they want. On top of the store they also have a digital store and an awesome 48 hour auction page which allows you to bid on a variety of interesting items. They consistently ask what types of items people are looking for to make sure they’re offering something relevant.

I’m a massive collector of movies and routinely buy a box of movies to get one or two that I’m after. They allow me to bring in the ones I don’t want and exchange them, 2 for 1, for movies I want. They also let me keep a credit file open as a lot of the time I leave them the movies and just get them to to store the credit for later use.

The service I receive at the store is unparalleled. When they, temporarily, closed the courtenay store I tried to find a local place to make the same arrangement. The local stores weren’t willing to do what these guys do and were quite flippant at the suggestion. I could have traded my movies locally but instead chose to drive to Port Albernie rather than deal with a rude local pawn shop that had no interest in building relationships with its customer base.

I’ve found tons of neat memorabilia here for everything from Bobs Burgers, Star Wars and even neat fidget rings. It’s worth visiting both stores as they both carry very different, unique, items. The owners are awesome and care about their customers and make a genuine effort to customize what they offer to fit what’s needed.

I should also add one more piece. The one time I received something that was not as I felt it should be they apologized and gave me a full refund with no issues at all. This store puts its customers first and does a good job at balancing being profitable and catering to their customer base fairly.

It’s well worth the time to visit both of the stores and chat up the wonderful folks who work there and are more than happy to have a great talk with you. One thing I never see is someone sitting on their phone while I’m shopping. The staff are always engaged with whoever is in the store.

I don't know how I didn't know of this place before, what a hidden gem! Friendly owner, fair prices, lots of selection of DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games, and other collectibles. Will definitely be returning for more in the future, great store!
