This is such a serene find, if your new Elk Point, AB its a must see...it would be neat if they got some funding to rebuild the old sites but really sets in the hard work and how time has changed for us all.....BTW the CLEANEST OUTHOUSES EVER!!!! That is the beautiful North SK River in pics which they have to ways to access-fishing anyone!!!

By all appearances the little museum and interpretive centre is temporarily closed because of issues caused by the Covid19 thing in 2020. So I took a couple of photos to get and give a feel of the place. It would be closing up after next weekend (Labour Day weekend) anyway so I have seen all I can see until perhaps next year. I gave the place 3 stars without really having seen it because I didn't even know this bit of Alberta's history existed and the location overlooking the North Saskatchewan River is probably a fairly scenic as well as historic place. I'll be back to check it out fully next year.

Love the way of the Past! good history lesson for any age to know about were we came from and just how far we have come. Best thing are not on a cellphone it's in old books and old maps love gold panning as well check out Fort Edmonton cool things to see as well Fort George is Awesome.😻👍😯😃

This is a pretty cool small museum. There are trails that you follow out to see what is left of the historical sites... but there are now nothing more than fields with some depressions where structures once stood. I like that they are keeping Alberta history alive but don't come in thinking it will be something like Fort Edmonton because it really isn't. Totally worth the stop on its own though!

Not fancy, but cute vignettes. Staff were marvelous. Toured my Dad and I both inside and walked down to the area of the forts with us giving history and interesting information the whole way.

Very well laid out historical site. Fascinating exhibits and knowledgeable staff.
Plenty of parking.
Be prepared for some excellent walks.
