The last review I read is so unfortunate. I feel the complete opposite towards this school community. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and principal. They clearly love the students very much and work very hard to be a warm welcoming place to anyone who walked through their doors. It is a true community feel when I walk into that school with lots of staff and student support.

There will always be issues with drop off space at any school. School parking lots were not designed to fit all the vehicles that pass through there every morning and afternoon, so I don't believe that's a real issue. Again, the staff are out there in the cold and before their day even starts to try to make things run smoothly.

This school will continue to flourish and thrive with this principal as their leader.

Having attended the school from 2017 to 2024, I have witnessed significant changes, including a growth in student population from 97 to 340. Unfortunately, this expansion has been accompanied by a decline in staff quality and an overall deterioration of the school's environment.

The current principal is 😬🙄. Moreover, some office staff seem ill-equipped to handle interactions with younger students, often appearing unwelcoming and unapproachable.

Large class sizes have become a concern, leading to some students being overlooked, especially those without behavioral issues.

My oldest child was deemed to be behind academically, and the school suggested coding. However, since transferring to a new school for grade 7, my child has excelled, successfully completing grade 7 curriculum. It is disconcerting to think that the school's actions may have been driven by a desire to secure additional funding.

The kiss and go area's design is inadequate, resulting in safety hazards and extended wait times for parents, who must always wait on the road, turn off their vehicles, and wait for more than 20 minutes or arrive 30 minutes before the bell and still experience delays. And only 3 cars can fit simultaneously.

Ultimately, the school has lost its core values, which once made it a unique and special place.

I as well am deeply saddened by the unaccurate review regarding the principle and staff at Horse Hill, I have had many many years dealing with the school, and I can accurately say the school has never functioned at such a high level as it has since the new principal arrived. Here is a lady who truly Loves and cares for her students, there families, as well as our community. I feel if you have Met and got to know who Ms El-Ali is, you yourself can say that the way she and other staff are to our students and families is truly next level. Please don't make your decisions on her, or other staff based off of one's personal vendetta against the Principal. Go in and speak to her, get to know her and you will see for yourself all that's been FALSELY said about her and her staff. I want to say personally to Ms El-Ali thankyou for your Love that you show to all who have the pleasure to get to know who you truly are. Your a Blessing to our school and our community thankyou for all you do, as well as your staff, it does not go unnoticed.

Went there as a kid for grades 7-9. Best school I ever attended. Mr. McMullen was an amazing teacher and coach. The school was small so there was a strong sense of community.
