Zero out of ten. Do not recommend. Teachers are petty and racist. Penalize special needs kids. Seen teachers telling kids not to be friends with other kids, bullying, making fake suspensions…a long list of misconduct.

Alright I'm going to divide this into 3 parts. This is a small review about E.S Laird middle school. I want to say I do not intend to attack the school, hurt the teachers or anything. I just want to help shed some light on how they treat us. No I am not a angry failing student I am serious about this because it is important to me. This school is pretty good I enjoy going here most of the time. But there are some reasons why it just is not good anymore.Part one will be about the Teachers and the general learning experience at this school. Part Two will be about the Guidance counsellors. Part Three will be about the students.

Part one. The teachers at this school sorted into a few groups. Some teachers are brand new to this school this year and take advantage of that fact in order to purposely annoy the students. There are very few teachers who I have had or talked to that are extremely nice and they enjoy kids, Understand how to keep a class engaged, and help you to get through the day. Then there are the teachers who just hate kids or hate people in general they assign something even they admit is hard and then give the excuse that we weren't paying attention. Sometimes these teachers will straight out yell or cuss at students for barely any reason at all. Throughout my time at E.S it seems like the teachers work against each other. A lot of them are sneaky behind each others back. Countless times have I seen teachers argue with each other over simple things. There is so much tension that happens between the staff it actually affects the students. Also a quick side note almost all of the Student services people understand students and help them to learn.

Part Two. The guidance councillors are really unhelpful. The role of a guidance councillor is to help students with there life. The guidance councillors here ignore kids who beg for help and really need it. They instead focus on kids who talk in class or don't bow down to them. You see this really annoys me they don't do there job enough. On almost all field trips one of them pops up. This happens in gym classes, homerooms, random classes where you don't even have them, Hallways, Outside, Sports teams. It makes you really think if someone who is supposed to be helping children make educated decisions/ Life choices always has time to go out for fun. Then how much work do they actually get done.

Part Three. The students are usually made out to seem like the bad guys or the reason the teachers are so mean. If I could tell you the amount of times I have been walking in the hallways and two teachers have sat there whispering to each other about students. The teachers talk as much gossip as a person has to breathe. The students aren't bad people or bad things. They are just brainwashed into this system that the teachers force them into. You should see the kids at this school they have fear in there eyes from what teachers have imprinted into them.

Conclusion. E.s laird is a good school and you learn most of what you need to learn. But sometimes it's important to hear about this stuff from someone. I don't want anyone hurt or offended I just wanted to get some things off my chest. I mean look at the reviews this year People complaining about bathroom doors that affects the privacy. We are constantly monitored with these video cameras that teachers threaten you with. People are saying that the teachers make them depressed and suicidal. One look at some of these kids and you can tell.

Tales are swapped of close encounters with the mischievous spirit, Peeves, and counsel shared on navigating the labyrinthine corridors without succumbing to his vexatious pranks. Mastery of this art becometh a rite, a testament to a student's fortitude midst magical tumult.

In the halls of transfiguration, where lessons seem more akin to theatrical improvisations, and charms classes leave thee pondering, the instructors reveal themselves as maestros. They are not mere pedagogues but orchestrators of a symphony, where education and merriment dance in tandem, and the occasional cauldron explosion provides a crescendo of magical cacophony.

The once mundane cafeteria transforms into a culinary wonderland, introducing thee to the gastronomic delights of wizardry. Pumpkin pasties, chocolate frogs, and butterbeer becometh thy daily fare, and thou quickly learnest to discern between the delectable Fizzing Whizzbee and the mischievous Skiving Snackbox. The culinary artisans, a peculiar ensemble of magical chefs, turn each repast into a feast, complete with levitating candles and the Sorting Hat regaling with tunes of house-elf camaraderie.

The house-elves, unsung heroes laboring tirelessly in the shadows, form a clandestine society to preserve the mystery of the vanishing bathroom doors, deeming it a vital element to sustain the school's enchantment. Whispers suggest those who unlock this puzzle shall gain entry to a hidden realm where laughter reigns supreme.

In the midst of potion mishaps and eruptions unforeseen, the school transforms into a whimsical circus. Professors juggle magical ingredients as seasoned performers, transmuting each class into a spectacle that doth keep thee on the edge of thy seat. The bubbling cauldrons serve as instruments in a symphony of chaos, and thou comest to appreciate the beauty in the capricious nature of magic.

Notwithstanding the idiosyncrasies and trials, the school proves not only a haven of learning but a sanctuary for the extraordinary. The friendships forged amidst magical mishaps, the shared laughter echoing through these hallowed halls, and the fortitude cultivated amidst whimsical tribulations create an atmosphere where each student feels enwrapped in something truly magical.

Definitely would not recommend this school. It's in a very bad part of town. There aren't any bathroom doors, which is the main reason I'm almost considering moving to a different school. While the privacy invasion is not too serious, it's still embarrassing enough to make me, personally, avoid using them. I won't get started on the staff because that's more personal. What I will say though is that the principle does not seem to care about our opinions. Quite a few students have complained about the door issue but all we got back was a talk about how the doors will not be coming back. We have also complained about some of our gym teachers locking the changing room doors during gym but they haven't done anything. Even writing this, I'll probably get in trouble or the school will get a talking to or something similar. Overall, I don't recommend having your child go here.
edit: hello. i have started high school and i want to make it clear that this school kind of ruined me. the main problem is the counselors. i wont mention any names, but me and all of my friends have had problems with her. i wont sugar coat it this time. being near her was harmful. it made all of us depressed and sometimes suicidal. some of us havent been able to trust school counselors again because what if they end up being like she was. me and my friends are considered minorities, and i dont want to accuse her of anything but sometimes that felt like it was a part of it. the principal never listened to us, because were just kids and what do we know. if i could, i would gladly choose to forget every interaction with her. she doesnt understand what anxiety is and she treats us harshly. despite that, she still throws a hissy fit everytime a students even a little rude to her. yet again, overall, i do not recommend this school at all.

hello i just started grade 7 here i do enjoy coming to school here its a some what okay school.some teachers here are just a no! but i still come to school the area of the school is not the best(north side) so if you want a good area for your kid maybe this aint the best area but overall this school is alright.
