The handling of animals here is appalling. I cannot believe this is a government inspected facility and their practices are permitted. I will never put an animal in their hands again.

Purchased a bunch of meat for a family reunion. High quality across the board. Rave reviews on their back bacon, great breakfast sausage, and we had 2 of the most amazing bone in smoked hams I have ever seen or tasted.

Was so happy to hear our pups K9 raw dogfood was available again ....until we went to pick it up - Prices have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY since they sold to Family Meats. No discount for bulk orders anymore. No option for smaller cuts (seriously how many dogs eat 1lb of raw in one sitting?) Individually wrapped tubes are annoying and wasteful. No delivery option means an extra 2 hours of driving to Ponoka now. I understand there was a fire but thats what insurance is for - this business was rapidly expanding even during covid so having a hard time justifying all these added costs and increases for a lesser product IMO After the changes I really don't see anything that sets this product line above any other. We are paying more and getting less. Will be looking elsewhere!

Family meats is the best meat shop where you can buy fresh meat. It is so good to buy the meat products here because of many varieties that you can have also not just for human consumption they also prepare foods and others products for your pets.

I cannot recommend Family Meats highly enough. Fantastic customer service, very friendly staff, and amazing sausages! I live in Red Deer and visit once a week or so and enjoy every trip. Started out just browsing, and now we're buying all of our Christmas meat there.

Absolutely horrible service..the manager was so rude and did not care at all that they got our order wrong when we ordered a month in advance for something we have done for 5 years!! I'd give 0 stars if I could.. absolutely ruined our weekend we have guest coming from all over .. I'm in shock and so angry!! don't support this place!
