Rooms are great for the price. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. I have stayed here 4 times so far since October and have not have a bad experience. This will be my first choice for a hotel anytime I need to be in Red Deer.
If you are ever in Red Deer from out of town to visit your kiddo at Red Deer College or watch them play a game at the college, this location is nice and close which is a plus!

We stopped in at the casino on our way home, it's been open a while so we decided to check it out. Super clean and quite bright. We sat at the casino bar and had a few drinks, and some food. The selection was pretty good. The ladies behind the bar were excellent. Music was good, but not super loud.

Overall positive experience at this hotel. ||Pros: |-pool and hot tub area is extremely clean, large, great temperature and well stocked! |-9th floor Club Lounge is a very nice touch with evening appetizers, a free drink, bottled non-alcoholic drinks and morning breakfast. It is attended by a host and kept spotless and stocked; the host was very friendly and engaging.||Cons: |-room furniture and fixtures seem tired and in need of a refresh. |-When we arrived at 7:45 pm to check in (2 adults and 2 young children), a loud scene for a movie was being filmed in the lobby blocking access to the main elevators, the luggage carts, and even the back elevator. I had to cart my family and luggage through the lounge area to get around the 150-person film crew and extras. While I’m glad to see the local film industry active in Red Deer, this was a huge inconvenience and I didn’t feel that the staff did enough to accommodate guests. It would have been much better for them to film the scene earlier in the day - not during prime check-in hours, or for the hotel to put extra staff on during that time to help guests navigate the lobby with their luggage|-finally, our original room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (not musty/old smoke but active). We called and the desk said they’d send security to check on it. After 20 min we decided to call back and request a room change because we were worried about the impact of the 2nd hand smoke on the baby. They provided us with a new room on the floor above (which was very clean and smelled fresh), but it would have been nice to have an offer of help to move luggage or provide us with a luggage cart (it was 9 pm) - or better enforcement of the non-smoking rules as a matter of principle.

I am confused as to how this place has anymore than 3 stars. Honestly, I don’t get it.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Red Deer Resort and Casino, and I must say, it was a letdown. Despite friendly service at check-in (and only at check in) the hotel's overall condition and amenities were subpar.

The room was loud, with thin walls that allowed every hallway conversation to be heard. The heat exchange unit was also incredibly noisy, making it difficult to sleep. To add to the frustration, we had to wait 30 minutes for towels, and the room lacked basic amenities like glasses and room service, not to mention tiny showers.

The hotel's identity crisis was apparent, with a poorly updated interior that seemed to be struggling to find its footing. The casino was small and uninviting, and the restaurants, while serving decent food, had an off-putting atmosphere.

At over $200 per night, I expected far more. Unless significant improvements are made, I would not recommend the Red Deer Resort and Casino to anyone. I will never go back.

I had the pleasure of planning Eagle Builders company Christmas party this year, and we were thrilled to host it at a venue we built—the Red Deer Resort & Casino Event Centre. The excitement of celebrating in a space with such personal significance added a special touch to the event.

While there were initial challenges with the original Catering Specialist not being responsive, Catering Manager Sarker stepped in and was absolutely wonderful to work with. His attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to accommodate our needs made all the difference. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Randy, the Banquet Manager, and Sofia, the Event Day Coordinator, for going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfectly set up and ran seamlessly. Their friendliness, quick response times, and dedication were key to the event's success.

The layout of the room was warm, inviting, and perfect for our large group of 625 attendees. The venue’s space was well-designed to create an atmosphere of elegance and celebration, leaving a lasting impression on our guests.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend the Red Deer Resort & Casino Event Center for any large-scale event. Their exceptional team and beautiful venue made our Christmas party a memorable occasion for years to come.

I always raved about the Chinese food buffet on Friday and Saturday nights.
I went on Friday Jan 24 for dinner around 6pm with my hubby and another set of friends.
I was disappointed and noticed it has sure gone down hill.
A lot of the dishes were almost empty, or empty. The food that was there was cold. There were multiple staff standing at the start of the buffet line not filing it.
I would have thought at 6pm they would be keeping the dishes full and fresh.
The waitress we had on the other hand was great. She kept our drinks full and plates clear. The kitchen staff should take some tips from her.

The Red Deer Resort Hotel staff are awesome! Patricia in the Club Lounge, Kobe at the front desk and Club Lounge and Bell and Christina in the Garden Terrace Lounge. We have stayed at this hotel several times in the last year, and the staff mentioned above remember my husband and I, and call us by name. Their customer service is outstanding!
