A group of us stayed at the cabins for a celebration and it was Spectacular. I can not put to words how incredible and accommodating both the cabins and the hosts Kathy and Marty are. They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The Cabins were spotless, You can tell how much love and pride goes into the ranch. I cannot say enough good things about Ride the Wind. They supply so much in the cabins you can basically get away with packing food and a change of clothes and get by just fine for a weekend. They have some fantastic out buildings for photo ops, waking up to the incredible view from the cabin while the horses graze just outside your cabin door, it truly is something out of a dream. I can't wait to go back. Thank you Kathy and Marty for making our trip so special! we will never forget it!

I have nothing but great things to say about staying here. I came down with my mom and mother-in-law and as we pulled up you just instantly felt at peace. The grounds are kept beautifully, and the cabins were cleaner than some 5-star hotels I have stayed in.

Waking up to having coffee on the deck and seeing the horses was so relaxing and was a wonderful way to wake up and start the day.

You definitely felt like you were away from civilization and could really just recharge. There is a lake 5 minutes down the road which was really nice, and it was only a 30-minute drive to town if you needed anything.

I cant wait to come back here!

We all loved our 3 nights ranch get away. We stayed at the Moose cabin with 4 adults and 2 children ; 2 bathrooms; and was it ever so extremely clean! No kitchen, but we didn't want to spend time cooking anyways, rather we used the BBQ grill for grilling chicken and steaks and had salad with that. For us, for breakfast, the toasters and coffee makers/ hot water kettle with coffee and tea supplies was great. Our kids enjoyed playing in the Sheriff's office (actually, us adults did too ) , and with the toys supplied. we also played quite a bit of ping pong. It was awesome to walk around and go look at the bunnies and the beautiful Texas Longhorns. Best of all was when the horses came to the fence and our kids gave them carrot treats. My friend and I also walked on the pasture to pet the horses, they are beautiful and one afternoon we went on a 1 hour horseback ride which is an different outfit a 5 min drive from the ranch, while our husbands took the kids to Crimson Lake beach. The hosts Kathy and Marty , originally from Switzerland, are very welcoming and so quick to reply to any questions by text. I stayed at their other cabin 4 years ago, just as a couples get away, this time with friends and our little ones. I definitely recommend to either couples (rent the Bear cabin) or families as well (rent the Moose cabin, if available). I would love to rent a cabin for a full week, they have excellent rates for that and then go out West one day to explore Abraham Lake. Almost forgot, our kids loved to meet Kathy each morning to go feed 2 bunnies and then were able to pet those adorable little animals

We stayed at their Bear cabin as a couple and absolutely loved it. At the other cabin at the ranch was a family staying, but everything is separate. We had our own campfire site in the far end of our cabin, very private and out of view of the other cabin as well as the house where the hosts Kathy and Marty live. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Also they keep everything extremely clean and tidy, inside the cabin and around the ranch. The cleanest BBQ grill I've ever seen. The bed was very comfortable, outdoor cooking on our own BBQ grill with side burner worked great. And Kathy supplies dishes and pots and pans as well.|The highlight was to sit on the covered porch first thing in the morning and in the evening, watching the sunrise and sunset and the horses on the pasture. Their horses are so beautiful and so friendly. They came to the fence right at the cabin several times and we also walked on the pasture with brushes Kathy provided to pet and brush them. |We already are making plans to come back next year, probably spring to see a different time a year and nearby Crimson lake will be less busy for us to paddle board.

My family has been coming to the ranch regularly over the last few years. The cabins are super clean, the grounds well maintained, and the views are unreal. Kathy and Marty are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make you feel at home. My kids love feeding and petting the beautiful horses at the ranch. Everything you need is provided to have a relaxing stay. Just pack some food, hop in the car, and everything else you need will be ready when you arrive. Truly a hidden gem in Alberta. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at the ranch last weekend and if We can give 10 stars we would!

The place is exactly what is shown on the pictures, and even better! You got everything you need there for BBQ and grilling and even frying up easy breakfast food in the morning with the supplied pots and pans in each room. There is no kitchen sink in the cabins and the host were very much upfront about it and my boyfriend and I camp a lot and wash our dishes by hand all the time so it did not bother us the slightest.

Kathy prepared a very informative guidebook in the cabin for guests to utilize to be able to explore West Alberta as well as getting to know the horses, the Texas longhorns and even the bunnies! She even gives guest the options to have their dirty dishes be left in a bin and leave it at the main ranch house to be washed and they will be returned by the porch the next day when they are cleaned!! Now talk about 5-star service there!

The place it self is gorgeous. The ranch experience is spectacular. But one thing we really missed the most when we were back home are the horses!!!! We only stayed there for two nights but we fell in love with these magnificent creatures. All of them are sweet and friendly and sometimes cuddly. My boyfriend even ran around with them in the rain and it was quite a show to see. At the end of our stay we wished we brought more treats!

We surely can’t wait to go back there and we are planning to stay longer than 2 nights by then. It’s truly a gem, from the cabin itself, the place and the experience you will get while staying there.

Such a cozy (and super clean) cabin with beautiful view from the porch ! We loved the ranch setting, loved to pet and cuddle their horses. We also went to look at the bunnies, they are so cute and in an outdoor home and came running to the fence right away, we fed them some carrots through the fence, which Kathy told us we are welcome to do anytime. We also fed the horses carrot treats. Next time we have to bring more carrots! ||From the ranch we went on a daytrip out to Abraham Lake region and did the Siffleur Falls hike and the hoodoo creek hike, stopped quickly at Crescent falls. ||Back at the ranch we relaxed, grilled our steaks on the BBQ on the cabin's porch and later sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows and looking at the stars. ||Kathy is a great host, she texted me all the info, and when I had questions at the ranch I texted her. We chatted with her once along the fence to the horse pasture; the cabin is self check-in with cabin key box code, which is nice during this Covid time. We stayed last fall and we'll book again for this coming fall, this time booking a horseback ride at a place Kathy recommended.||We highly recommend to stay at these cozy cabins||(Kathy has 2 cabins for rent, each cabin has it's own campfire site and own BBQ grill)
