I recently moved to Sherwood Park and was looking for a church here.
I went for my first time in the middle of August 2024.
I instantly felt at home. The energy in this church is electrifying.
The community is warm, welcoming and everyone is very easy to talk to and so relatable.

The lead pastors have a clear vision that they communicate well and it's easy to rally behind it. They deeply care about people.

I immediately wanted to get involved and my children want to spend the whole day there.

There is a great and safe space for children to go to, and there is a fun program for kids aged 4 and up, with all kinds of games, activities, even experiments. Music and dancing is also part of the program each week.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the snacks offered to the kids there - something I am quite particular about.
The volunteers who teach kids while parents attend the service have a blast in there and put a ton of effort and care in setting the space up with various themes.

The worship team plays live music every week. They are amazing. It sounds beautiful and you can tell that they are really into it. Not something that is true in every church.

If you have never been in church and are looking for a place to learn more about Jesus or find some comfirt and community, this is a great church to go to for a first time.
I know because I did not grow up in church, getting accustomed to the structure of the service, the atmosphere and even the words people use in church has been a process for me, and I have often felt very awkward around church-going people.
Not at all here at Discovery.
I wish I had found Discovery church sooner.

If you are not new to church, this is also a great place to get encouraged and energized in your walk in Christ.

This place is the opposite of boring.

Oh and they offer coffee every week too, and you can have it any way you like it: they have it all, from black to iced with oat milk...

My family has been going to Discovery Church for 1.5yrs and we LOVE it! We love the Pastors, their wonderful and biblical messages every Sunday and the community here! Discovery Church is alive and thriving and we are so thankful to be a part of it. We highly recommend checking it out and it’s great for all ages and there is child care for the youngsters during the services. Come down any Sunday at 9:15am or 11am and check it out 🙂

We love Discovery Church. Each Sunday our family looks forward to connecting with our church fam. Pastor Lorne and Shauna-Lee love big and it shows throughout the culture of the church. Love that our kids can be kids there too. Great messages each week!

The people at Discovery Church are super friendly and inviting. We visited from out of province and found Discovery on Google, steps from our hotel. From the moment we stepped on the front doors we felt welcomed. The service was fantastic. Pastor Lorne is very easy to listen to. His message really hit home with me. Thanks for allowing the Holy Spirit use you in such an amazing way. If you are in the area, I highly recommend visiting, you will be glad you did.

Discovery Church has such a warm welcoming atmosphere. I was a little nervous coming to Church for the first time however the people at Discovery were so kind and friendly, they made me feel at home immediately. I’ve met so many great people who I now call good friends. Its nice to be part of such a great community and I’m happy to call Discovery home 🙂

I go to Church in Sherwood Park since I felt God calling me there. There was a time though that I came a couple times and was even a part of the Church plant when I was at Pastor Lorne's place. Love what they are doing as a Church and seeing how this Church has seemed to grow under his leadership and the volunteers there. The times I went, people we're so friendly. Pastor Lorne even came up to me and said Hi. Sometimes you can go to a Church, and you'll never meet the pastor or shake their hands.

I can tell this is a place that really cares about community and the intentionality behind it. I know some people who go who have nothing but good things to say about it. Seems like a Church focusing on the daily mission of reaching those who don't know Jesus.
