The activities were fun but the teaching was terrible, actually nonexistent. There were no lessons, no verb conjigations, no grammar lessons. It seems like they hired unemployed people to sit and talk at you and force everyone to "speak" only French when they can't so How do you learn if you just listen to other students talking terrible French, making mistakes? You just learn mistakes. I didn't learn a damn thing in three weeks.

The Explore program here was incredibly fun and while it didn’t improve my French to the level that I’d hoped, it was still very close and was also much more enjoyable than I anticipated as well. The prepaid activities were the most fun parts, and I would recommend in particular the go karting, the bouldering at Béta-crux, the treetop adventure at Cap-Jaseux, and the mini golf, but they were all fun. The only people that I know who didn’t have fun at this camp are people who didn’t try to speak and French and ignored rules that were clearly laid out from the start. Overall, I would definitely recommend this camp to anyone looking to improve their French speaking skills (it will be more beneficial for newer French learners) and for anyone looking to have a unique and fun French experience in the summer!

Edit: I forgot to talk about a few things, so I’ll mention them here, the food is hit or miss. Some of the food is good, and some of it isn’t, but most of it is just ok. It didn’t take away from the experience of the camp at all, so it wasn’t that impactful. Also, the rooms can get hot at times, but it only happened a handful of times and it never got super hot. The gym is also open and I had a lot of fun going to it to work out with my friends on a few evenings.

Teenage son is there. Activities/excursions are cancelled without explanation. Food is “prison menu”. Emergency contact is unresponsive even with 911 safety issues. Rooms are hot and fans dont exist. Pool is closed. Gym is closed. On a good note students are bonding over how horrible this place is.

Esta es una escuela de idiomas muy estricta, sin mucha paciencia para los estudiantes que hacen preguntas. O sigues sus expectativas o hay consecuencias negativas. Deja un sabor agrio en mi boca porque aprender un idioma no debería ser tan molesto. El ambiente es similar a unirme al ejército, sin la parte de entrenamiento físico. Probablemente aprenderé un idioma diferente ahora. En algún lugar donde aprecien más a sus estudiantes.
