Came here once before and the experience was good. However, we had an appointment booked and she told us next time we can just walk in. So, the next time our dog needed a trim we decided to walk in. Unfortunately, when we got there she came to the door and said she's closed today, just in doing her own dog. Her Google hours are listed as supposed to be open and there were no posts on socials indicating she'd be closed. So now we already have a busy day, and just drove in from Petawawa, only to have to turn around now and drive to Pembroke to find someone there, and this is made an even bigger deal with a dog who's very nervous of car rides, not to mention the insane gas prices. As much as we loved the service last time, we don't want to risk driving out if the doors are going to be locked when we get there. If you do choose to head over from out of town, definitely don't go the walk in route.

We are very fortunate to have such a great grooming studio right here in town. They are professional and very knowledgeable. Lots of parking and easy online booking system.

Proper signage would be helpful and customer service needs a bit of work.

The one time I went there was to drop off my parent's dog to get him groomed as they both were busy. I was told previously (by my parents and brother) that it was difficult to find as there wasn't any sign that says "Valley Fairy Tails" (not an obvious one at least). Google maps, or the website doesn't have photos of the entrance or building either.

When I got there, there was faded writing on the glass door that says "Valley Fairy Tails". But that door was locked and blocked with chairs on the inside. I was confused as there was no other sign that said "use other door" or anything. But when I went to the next set of doors on the right anyway (these doors did not have any sign or advertisement indicating it was Valley Fairy Tails) it was the entrance to the business.

When I walked in there was a lady waiting there, calling for my parent's dog. This lady did not introduce herself to me, say hi or anything. Not even a smile. She proceeded to take my parent's dog and I began talking to her about some issues with him as he's a senior dog.

She immediately cut me off and pointed to Heidi (the owner) for me to talk to. I figured the information about my parent’s senior dog would be something everyone who will be handling him would want to hear about.

Heidi was very sweet and understanding. I just didn't appreciate the other lady's customer service. I get being an animal-person and not a people-person, but you're still in a line of work where you still interact with people.

Although my parent's dog comes out beautifully groomed, as someone who was there just to drop-off, it wasn't the greatest first experience.

Awful customer service.

I’m super super disappointed with the service at Valley Fairy Tails. Before the holidays, my parents had their dog booked in for grooming - they are returning customers. The day of the grooming we had a family emergency and my mom cancelled the appointment immediately. They made her pay a $60 cancellation fee (way too high in my opinion). But here is the super frustrating part. Later that day, my mom was able to arrange for her dog to make the initial grooming appointment and when she called in, they told her they filled the spot. Which is fine but then they refused to reimburse her the original $60 cancellation fee! I think this is awful. 1) there should be some leniency for returning customers and my parents have never had a late cancellation before and 2) if you are able to fill the appointment you are still making your money! I was appalled when I heard this. Please do the right thing and reimburse my mother her $. She has worked very hard for her retirement $ and what you have done is completely unethical.

Thank you !!! Jasmine had been struggling with scratching and hair loss. Heidi recommended a change in diet, still continued . Then we discovered liver bites was the culprit. I never knew my girls coat changed every 21 days. Thank you our little one coat looks beautiful again.

We brought our 15 yr old mini terrier mix in for a groom and nail trim, and are so impressed. The staff was extremely patient and professional, giving Benny breaks as needed to help him calm down before they proceeded. They managed to trim all his hair - even in the places he hates being touched - and he looks great!! I would strongly recommend this grooming business to anyone!

Our dogs haircut itself was fine, however we didn’t appreciate the customer service. We were told our dog had open wounds that were infected, yet couldn’t show me any wounds when I asked if I could see them. We were told she may have a yeast infection and she should be checked at the vet, yet there is no redness to my dogs ears or itchyness /scratching. I am a medical professional and am aware of what open wounds and signs of infection look like. We were shamed for having sand in my dogs coat telling us to brush her twice a day (she’s a golden doodle with tight curls and rolls in the sand daily), I have three toddlers and can barely brush my own hair let alone my dogs twice a day. They also told us to have her hair cut more than we have ever had it cut in her entire 9 years of life - and our previous groomer never had any issues or comments with our dogs condition and how frequently we groomed her. Ultimately I felt like they made us feel badly so they could make more money by grooming more frequently. We tried going twice to this place and my husband also had a negative experience when he picked her up last time as well. We will never be back especially for $200 for a 2 hour job (our previous groomer charges half of that). They should really educate themselves on proper medical terminology and what not to say before scaring other clients with words like infections and open wounds to guilt people into unnecessary appointments.
