We went here to check out the souvenirs after having lunch in the restaurant beside it. They had a binoculars by their window and we saw an iceberg on the ocean. It was very far so the binoculars actually helped! Neat idea.
They had tons of Jordan’s labradorite jewelries that were on sale. At first, I wasn’t interested at all. Then another tourist from Montreal told me about the labradorite gems, that it is only found in Newfoundland and Labrador. Perfect souvenir! I bought myself a labradorite pendant on a sterling silver chain. As I read about the gem later on, I ended up buying more for my daughters and earrings for myself, at the airport gift shop and I was glad it was also Jordan’s Labradorite.
The store also had a mini-exhibit inside. We went to look and made a small donation. It was interesting.

Niet alleen een souvenir winkel maar vooral ook een zeer leuk klein museum met een opgezette ijsbeer. Ook leuke details over de omgeving en Newfoundland.
Gratis te bezoeken, eventueel met een gift, dus ga zeker even langs.

Great little museum that shares info on the rocks life. Animal displays and info on icebergs. Well worth a $5 donation for the 2 of us.

The gift shop is so so, but the museum inside the gift shop is amazing. Lots of animal models inside. Also depicts the local fishing history, lifestyle by showing some old tools, photos. There is no ticket, the museum is 'pay what you want' style.

The museum here is one of the best in Newfoundland and Labrador, a provincial treasure. If you want to understand Newfoundland and Labrador in detail, e.g., what a Mummer is, what Resettlement was, or why there are small vegetable plots next to highways, or woodpiles in rural Newfoundland everything is covered in great detail. This place is a real labour of love for the owner and it was great to see.
