I recently completed a 10 lesson pack at GOLFTEC and I had a great experience. I found the coaches, including Christian, to be very knowledgeable and they provided clear instructions at a good pace. My game is far from perfect but I've definitely improved thanks to their help. The app and website are great for reviewing your lessons and progress as well. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Christian Pomerleau is the best swing coach and fitter I've met in my 11 years as a golfer.

He has a vast knowledge of the swing and is able to tweak what a player brings to the table, not force a once size fits all.

He is able to describe and convey a variety of feels and mechanics to any type of golfer. His attention to detail in the swing and the fitting process are meticulous.

In addition, he also has considerable understanding of the mental side of the game to help and truly desires know and understand his students.

A level of authenticity, passion and care that is a rare commodity these days.

Throughout my process over the years he has helped bring me down from a 12 to as low as a 2 hcp.

Top notch.

I’ve been taking lessons at GOLFTEC and I’ve seen my handicap drop from a 26 to now a 15 in the last 6 months!! If you stick with it, practice the way the instructors recommend you will get better and much more confident. I highly recommend it!

Here’s a copy of the email I sent my instructor Chris Pomerleau, with his permission.

Good morning Chris,

First, I’d like to thank you for helping me progress as much as I did. Your instructions helped me in being able to self diagnose bad results on the course.

The guys who’ve played with me all have remarked how much my game has improved. I understand that it is still very early in the season however, I can already feel that my “good” swings no longer feel as awkward and are becoming muscle memory.

I have already recommended GOLFTEC and specifically you as a coach to anyone who listens!

Thanks again,

Rejean

Ps. Please feel free to use this message to brag a little

I am astounded at my improvement and renewed joy of golf. I am consistently at a level of golfing fabulousness I thought unattainable by myself. I was fortunate to find golftec and my instructor Thomas McBride. The technology, analysis and professional expertise available at golftec combine to give you an understanding and improvement in your game that won’t happen with the usual lessons on the range. Each golfer brings their own swing to the game but must realize that there are certain components to the golf swing that all good golfers have. Golftec has by far the most fun and efficient way to teach you what works and what doesn’t work and how to incorporate the good parts into your swing. I am not gifted with talent and yet am now shooting in the 70’s. Was a 14 to 15 handicap/index starting with golftec. Now shooting regularly in the 70s. Best score of 75 last week with 4 birdies. Shot 76 today, 3 birdies. Expect to hit the green from 200 yards or less. Expect to be tight with a wedge in my hand. My confidence and enjoyment way higher, my scores way lower. Ethan and Christian at Golftec Kelowna were also super helpful with their expertise in clubfitting. Given my my lack of talent I have explored many lessons over the years. No instruction has come close to my golftec experience. If these guys can’t make you better then I suggest you donate your clubs and try pickleball. I can’t thank Thomas and the Kelowna team enough

I first started by getting fit for new irons by Christian last year and I was very happy with the knowledge and help Christian was able to give me. He lead me in the right direction and made me feel very involved in the process as well. Me and christian also did a 3 month swing rebuild over the winter and it’s done nothing but wonders for myself, I’ve went from struggling to break 80 to shooting consistent low 70’s rounds already! He is very knowledgeable and doesn’t load you with with information right off the bat, piece by piece and he allows you to understand and work on things before jumping into something else. I am very happy with everything and everyone at GOLFTEC here in Kelowna. I highly suggest anyone considering club fitting/lessons to go there and see for yourself!
Cheers, Ashton

If you're reading this, I'm going to tell a li'l story of my experience with lessons at Golftec. Hopefully this can help you decide whether this is the right place for you.

I'm a relatively new golfer as I've just started a little under 2 years ago, and now I'm pretty addicted as a 33 year old. I had my clubs fitted with Christian last season due to an unforeseen situation I found myself in. He was recommended to me by a friend who has gone to see him before. After being fitted, the new clubs felt great and I was fitted perfectly but...a new set of clubs can't fix a crummy swing, as I'm sure most people have experienced at one point. After the 2023 season was over, I figured I already invested a good chunk of change into properly fitted clubs, I should as least do them justice by swinging them well by getting lessons.

If you're still reading this, you may be in the same situation I was in - "where should I actually go to get lessons". Kelowna has lots of golf courses, and with it a lot of pros and instructors. I'm sure there a lot of great teachers out there, but it was dizzying reading who had good experiences where and who did what.

By coincidence, Christian was offering a deal on a swing evaluation and I jumped at the chance. I'm very glad I took advantage of it since it ended up being such a huge help for me. Your swing is recorded by motion capture cameras and then you take a critical look at your swing using the video . Christian reviewed my swing with me, and together he broke down what I was doing well, what needed improvement, and what should be addressed. Afterwards Christian presented me lesson plan options in a very open and honest way. He didn't try to pressure me in any sort of fashion, and honestly just laid out what would help me the best. I went for a 10 lesson plan that included simulator time that can be used for practice up to 3 times a week. Each session is booked in advance so everything is laid out ahead of time.

Each lesson is roughly 30 minutes long, and because they're booked ahead of time, Christian broke down the swing piece by piece so each lesson built off the last. There's so much that goes into a swing that I really appreciated his step by step approach; a person can't fix everything all at once. My very first lesson was hand position at set up. It was mind blowing how something as basic as hand position at setup affected my swing so much.

There's so much information on the internet that everyone has an idea of what they need to do during a swing and how to fix something. I had all this information of what I needed to do, thanks instagram and youtube, but I honestly had no real idea of how to implement any of the information I learned. I would liken it to reading a book on how to swing a club, but the chapters are all out of order and the book makes no sense at some places. Each lesson builds off the last and puts the swing in a proper order that allows for consistent ball striking.

As the lessons continued, I found my swing getting more consistent and powerful. I was hitting my 7 iron, at the start of our lessons around 140-150 yards total, to consistently 160-170 yards with the occasional pure hit to 180. Christian takes the time to tell you the "why" we do certain things and what positions and swings lead to better or worse outcomes. It's great to be shown or told what to do, but knowing the "why" is so much more helpful. Christian gives amazing technical and thorough explanations that really gets the point of across without losing you.

At this point, I'm done my lessons now. I started in December, and finished 'em late April. I've gone a few rounds now, and I've never been more confident at the tee box. The photos below show my previous (in green) and post swing (blue) positions. My set up and hitting is so much more consistent now to what it was before. Things aren't perfect by any means, but I've been given a fighting chance now thanks to Christian.

TLDR: I would 100% recommend anyone to stop by and talk to Christian for lessons.
