Coastal Firearm Safety Training –

I recently completed the PAL course with Coastal Firearm Safety Training and was thoroughly impressed. The instructors were knowledgeable, approachable, and incredibly clear in delivering both the theoretical and practical components of the course. Every aspect—from safety protocols to legal responsibilities—was covered in a way that was easy to understand and grounded in real-world application.

What stood out most was the balance between professionalism and approachability. Whether you’re new to firearms or looking for a refresher, the course is structured to make all participants feel confident and well-informed by the end of the day. Equipment was in great condition, the materials were up-to-date, and the environment was supportive for asking questions and learning hands-on.

Brian and Travis at Coastal Firearm Safety Training not only provided excellent pre and post reading materials, and engaging and informative content during our training day, but made the entire course process for my PAL clear, concise and approachable. My wife and I took part in the course together, and both of us felt that their hands-on approach has was confidence inspiring. Good experience. Class and materials are well presented, they set us up for success on the written and practical tests. The testing process itself could have been more organized by posting the order that folks would do the practical test, but other than that, great class and great instructors.

Really great course especially for people weary of guns.
The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the presenters are very personable guys and they explain the material in ways that are easy to understand.
The written are practical tests are reasonable so if you’re not a great test taker - don’t worry, it’s all happening in a low-pressure environment and you get plenty of time to complete your tests.

Brian and Travis did a great job training a full class. They were calm, knowledgeable, explicit, and efficient. In a 1 day course with limited safety knowledge beforehand: I scored a 96 on my CFSC/PAL with their training. They also provided coffee, and doughnuts

Great training. I took the Non-Restricted Firearms Safety Course, and the presentations and hands-on training were both excellent. The location is convenient. I can without reservation recommend the instructors (Brian and Travis) who are very knowledgeable, approachable and thoughtful in their teaching. I teamed up with a classmate for the practical instruction and that was great as well. Overall, excellent.
