I had a great experience learning and preparing for my road test with Destination YVR. I’ve been scared to drive for quite a few years, and Richard was a fantastic teacher. He helped ease my worries and gain confidence to drive again. His expertise and vast knowledge really equipped me with skills to drive safely and well on the road. I really appreciate his attention to detail and the stories he shared about driving. I went into my Class 7 test feeling well prepared and passed on the first try!

When looking for a top choice of driving school, Destination YVR keeps coming up, and for good reason! I recently completed my GLP program here with Richard as my instructor and it was an incredibly fun and informative experience. We had in-class lessons, simulations, and group collaboration as part of the program, as well as a few take home components. There was even a class where we physically went through the car to learn about its parts and also to take part in witnessing traffic with a critical eye.

On top of that, learning behind the wheels have been tremendously helpful. I started with a great deal of anxiety being on the road, but slowly Richard helped me gain confidence in my driving and kept me focused on the fundamentals. I'd recommend moving to 4hr lessons when you can/available to!

I had just passed my road test and got my N license! I passed it with very minimal marks and was told that I passed it with "flying colors" by the examiner. Thank you again Richard for guiding me 🙏

Richard is a great instructor with tons of knowledge about driving. He teaches you with patience, gives you details on doing maneuver, and makes you understand the importance of safe driving everyday. Passing the road test is just the beginning. It's meaningless if you only know how to drive on a test route. Practicing with Richard is not boring at all. He shared stories with own experience to let us be better drivers. Before I took driving lessons, I'd had my L for 4 years and one small accident that made me feel really anxious to drive. I remember my first lesson with Richard - I was a janky driver and so nervous! But Richard was very patient with me and helped me feel at ease. He is an excellent instructor and gives the right balance of encouragement and constructive criticism. He will teach you all the skills to become a safe, defensive driver, and prepare you to successfully pass the road test. Plus he's hilarious and fun to chat with! I'd highly recommend taking lessons with Richard, whether you simply need to brush up on your skills or need to ready yourself for a road test - he's got you covered!

Recently Richard helped me pass my Class 7N road test after I finished my GLP course with him. Now I feel like I've come such a long ways from that first lesson. I can drive smoothly, I feel comfortable on the road, and ready to quickly and safely react to any hazards. When it comes time to prepare for my Class 5, I will be returning to Destination YVR for lessons. Thank you Richard!

Thanks to the Destination YVR Driving School and Richard first of all I successfully passed a driving exam on the first try. I really enjoyed my time with Destination Driving School. For anyone that’s learning to drive, or improving their skills as a driver, I 100% recommend them.

Richard has all the qualities that make up a good instructor - extremely knowledgeable, holds their students accountable, and is able to adapt to different learning styles.

During our lessons, he provided a comfortable and supportive learning environment, which really helped me feel more confident in my abilities. He never overlooked any mistakes I made and provided constructive criticism to help me improve. Every set of feedback came with good, constructive comments. If I did something good, he’d explain why. If there was something I needed to fix, he’d clearly explain what I was doing wrong, how I can improve it, and why I made the mistake. Over all else, he truly cares for his students and wants to see them develop as safe drivers.

Lastly, the lessons were structured and organized. Before each driving session, Richard would outline the skills we would focus on and the goals we aimed to achieve. This helped every session be very productive.

Thanks to his guidance, I left each lesson feeling more confident and equipped with the skills necessary for safe driving. I highly recommend Destination Driving School for people to have a productive, enjoyable experience learning to drive, beginners or experienced drivers alike.
