We are expecting our first this August and decided to attend the 4 classes with Hello Baby - we couldn't be happier that we did! Carmel is so welcoming and knowledgeable; she made the classes fun and eased a lot of our worries and answered any questions we had. We now feel so much more ready to welcome our new little life into our family. If you are expecting and considering taking labor classes, I HIGHLY recommend taking the 4 classes with Hello Baby, you won't regret it!

Loved attending these sessions. My husband and I booked all 4 sessions and we learned a ton in every single one of them. Carmel’s style of teaching is excellent. It’s a combination of hands on learning following along with a very well structured presentation, and she creates an excellent environment for engagement with the attendees. My husband and I completed 4 classes with Carmel and feel more prepared now than we did after taking the classes offered by our local hospital. Carmel provided a unique experience for us with opportunities to understand the labour and delivery process through visual exercises using props like the pelvis, uterus, and baby. This helped my husband to understand the birthing process in a more profound way. This class was thorough, informative and research informed, which as professionals ourselves, made us feel more comfortable taking in all of the important and relevant information. We highly recommend this class to parents whether it's your first or second time with a new baby. The information for the partner who will be your support during this time is impactful and important. My husband and I loved Carmel's classes (we took all four) as they were highly informative, evidence-based, and a great overview of the key important things to know in preparation for a baby. We took her classes in June and July and welcomed our firstborn in early October, and we feel so much more well equipped and confident because of the learning and practice we were able to receive. I would highly recommend these classes for expecting mothers and their support persons in the Halifax area, especially those who will be new parents and who are planning to have their baby at the IWK.

My husband and I just completed all four courses offered by Carmel at Hello Baby Prenatal, and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl. These courses not only provided us with the resources, education and mental preparation we needed to tackle this new journey, but also empowered us into knowing the both of us can do this! We especially loved the breast-feeding course, which has filled our parenting toolbox with loads of helpful tips to handle any difficulties along the way. Carmel has a positive, inviting and calming attitude, and several years of experience and knowledge to share. We both always felt comfortable asking any, and all, questions during the classes, which she was easily able to answer. To those in the HRM, we highly recommend all of these courses to help you in your preparation towards labour, birth and parenthood.

I would highly recommend Hello Baby Prenatal and Childbirth Education to anyone debating on taking any of the classes offered. It was a great bonding experience for both my partner and I as well and we have learned so much throughout each class which will prepare us for labour and beyond. I can’t recommend Carmel enough for all your prenatal and childbirth education needs! My partner and I not only enjoyed her course, but it prepared us for the very real and raw experience that is labour and childbirth (and beyond). I especially love that it emphasized how to support the mother during birth and in the postpartum period. As first time parents, this course was beyond valuable to us.
