Thanks to David and the Strategic Learning Clinic there are no more “DO YOUR HOMEWORK!” arguments in our house, or at least much much fewer. It was not an overnight fix, parents should know— but after my daughter’s series of sessions, she started realizing how to prioritize and was able to manage her workload with my constant nagging and she takes responsibility. We now look back and realize the major positive change that happened from late elementary school to early high school.

We also signed her up for the high school entrance workshop with SLC and are pleased that she got into a top school. I don’t think we could have succeeded in the same way without David’s guidance. These courses were a worthwhile investment in our kid’s education and helped establish a positive work ethic!

We didn't have a positive experience with Strategic Learning. Going back, I realize there might have been a communication gap, but after having an introduction session (quite expensive one) where we discussed our goals and SLC's unique approaches to learning, we've agreed to start taking tutorials twice a week. I've also asked to help my son with coaching on prioritizing his tasks and planning. After one month, when talking to my son, I realized that the tutor's approach was no different from the rest of the tutors. Although, the SLC tutor is very knowledgeable in the math subject, practicing homework exercises is not something I was hoping to get from SLC. Somehow, I'm seeing the help should have been provided in a form of analyzing gaps in my child's knowledge, narrowing it by going back to foundations, creating targeted exercises - just like we were told in the beginning. Instead, the lessons were about my son's classes and ongoing curriculum.
Neither did we get any coaching on priorities and planning... Unfortunately, I can't attest that this organization stands for what it sells and advertises.

We couldn't be happier with the academic support our daughter is receiving with SLC. It is a very personalized approach and we have seen improvement in both her grades and her attitude toward school. We have also received tremendous support as parents. Navigating the struggles of helping a child with learning challenges is really hard - and harder with a teenager! David is always available with suggestions and resources or to lend a listening ear. We are very appreciative of the help we are receiving.

The reading specialist that is working with my 9 year old is absolutely the best. Within a year my daughter has gone from barely reading to reading an entire Robert Munsch book.
