We have been clients of this clinic for 17 years and it is beyond sad to see the deterioration of this practice. Brenda and her staff were kind, compassionate and caring. Wendy was always cheerful and welcoming. Unfortunately we now have staff who are unpleasant and the clinic appears to be run by a technician who refuses to give appointments for urgent matters and who refuses to offer referrals. She apparently believes she has the authority to make veterinary decisions. Jamie, whom I have seen on 3 occasions is kind and caring; but it is impossible to speak with her or to get an appointment. Unfortunately I have to give one star in order to post this.......I would prefer to give zero stars.

I am utterly disappointed with the service I received at this vet clinic. My cat was injured and needed stitches, so I rushed to get help, only to be put on hold for over an hour. When I finally got through, they had lost my vet file and refused to accept my visa statement as proof that I was one of their patients. They claimed that because I didn't have the actual receipt they thought I might have just about a bag of food from them and I wasn't actually their patient. It was like they were looking for an excuse not to take me in. I had to drive over 2 hours to get my cat the care it needed, which was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. However, the Colchester animal hospital was fantastic to deal with and highly recommended for anybody looking for great service. They were compassionate about my situation and treated my cat extremely well. This level of incompetence and lack of empathy is unacceptable, and I am left feeling deeply disappointed in the clinic's services.

I don't understand why their service has suddenly gotten so bad? I started taking my rabbits there 2 years ago and the vets and techs are always so kind. but now you can never get through to them, and the one time I did they put me on hold for 6 minutes, then hung up on me, and took the phone off the hook... they obviously don't want your business. I drive from Truro because their service and prices are much more reasonable but now I think I'll stay local...

Great place for vet care! Friendly, knowledgeable staff and affordable prices!! They take time to explain everything and provide solid advice. Happy to bring my pets there for all their needs! ?

Update: 2022 - waited 6 months for pet vaccination

Update: 2023 - "We are booked for the next 3 months and our system won't let us book farther out. Sorry, we can't offer you an appointment"

ANTIGONISH VET saved the day, and my pet!! I will be transferring all my pets to their care. I was able to secure an appointment in less than a week and the care was amazing!

On the good side Dr. Jamie is excellent would not want any other vet looking after my two. On the negative can never get hold of this clinic on the phone and since the merger and computerization they have lost my dogs file she is on special meds and they can not find her file to know what she was on. Unacceptable, but then what do you expect once you become just a number to big business. Plus they have now reduced their hours so if you work for a living good luck getting in,
