The best church, the best people, the best community.

I met Jesus there for the first time after growing up with a priest as grandfather and not being a believer but then Colwood Church took me in as a part of their family and community and I met him during worship.

I miss those people everyday.

My wife Marjorie and I attended Colwood Church this morning and enjoyed the service very much. As old time Baptists (many years ago) we particularly appreciated the classical old hymn. Judging from the way it was received it might be a suggestion to do this from time to time 🙂 We’ve been coming for a couple of months now and have seldom seen such spirited involvement. We also met some great people. The pastor, Shawn Chapman is a real gift. We are now in our 80s and are impressed by the informal cross-section of ages types. We will return!

This church is truly a beacon in the dark. They welcome you with open arms and pour unto you all the love in their hearts. Instant family. The online service is interactive, so you never feel distant. Blessed place!

Besides being a church, this is also the location of the Colwood Badminton Club, meeting every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm. While the venue isn't perfect with bright overhead lights and limited ceiling space, the quality of the badminton played here, and the comradeship of the patrons of the club make up for any physical shortcomings of the facility. Level played is a recreational medium to high level, so I would not recommend this to complete beginners, but if someone had played already and had some latent skills, then this would be a good venue to dust off racquets and enjoy the company of good people. Membership is $20 with a $5 drop in, but one can pay a non-member drop in of $7.
