I had my DZ training with this academy. I would definitely recommend everyone to join here if you’re planning for your DZ/AZ training. Casey was amazing and helped me arrange for my training sessions and test date. My instructor Jason was awesome. Even though I only had 6 hours of training Jason helped me to understand the air brakes and trained me for the truck driving in that short amount of time. I wish I had more hours of training. Best school in Peterborough.

Darrell is a top-notch guy! He is one hell of an instructor. Very experienced with 30 years of commercial driving and knowledgeable and very patient. I'm going to quote him twice here " If you are willing to listen to me, I will teach you how to drive this truck! " and the second quote of his is " I'm not teaching you to pass the drivers test, I'm teaching you how to drive the truck, and then it's up to you to pass the test with the knowledge and experience that I have given you! "

I just want to say a big thank you to Darrell for all of his help and patience! I really appreciate it!

The equipment althou older is great to learn on because it gives you experiences that you'll face in the real world of trucking.

If you want to learn how to drive an 18-wheeler, definitely enroll with Truck Training Centers of Canada Peterborough Branch. As of this moment, there are 3 instructors there (Reese, Jason, and of course Darrell). All of them are great instructors with different ways of teaching, but they all will help you to become a trucker.

Kasey is a busy guy, but he is always professional and answers all my questions.

I started this journey through Better Jobs Ontario with support from the YMCA they were absolutely fantastic. From day one, they were professional, supportive, and truly seemed to care. Unfortunately, everything went downhill fast once I got to Transport Training Centres of Canada (TTCC). If you’re considering this place, buckle up it’s a disaster hiding behind a government-funded scam.
Online Truck School Excellent. Dane Deserves a Raise. The online portion of truck school was the only part that felt legit. Dane ran a professional, well organized class. Informative, focused, and well managed. If the whole program were like that, this review would be glowing. But it wasn’t, not even close. Online Equipment School Chaos.
This one was a mess. Constant talking over the instructor, no structure or respect. It felt like a bunch of bored guys yelling while one poor instructor tried to teach through the noise. In-Person Equipment Training – A Pit in More Ways This took place in a great sand pit in Pontypool. I had three instructors: Joe, Marcel, and Jeff all great guys, but clearly fed up. Joe told us openly how bad things were.

The equipment? A joke.
Excavator windows zip-tied shut. No A/C. Seats soaked in sweat from the last guy.
Worn-through buckets. Garbage everywhere.
Broken armrests. Faulty controls.
The storage trailer? Spilled oil, unmarked fluids, animal feces. Steps falling apart. No running water. No clean area. Just an outhouse in the heat. The place looks abandoned. The instructors told us they’ve begged for repairs, but “the fat truck driver who owns it” keeps the cash. Their words not mine. They’re trying to teach with broken-down gear and no support. Sometimes class is cancelled for days because they don’t have working machines, and still won’t rent replacements.

In-Truck Training – Different Location, Same Story.
My yard day in Peterborough: dirt lot, no shelter, outhouse only, dust everywhere. Trucks filthy can’t even see the frame. Then I was sent to Oshawa (1.5 hours away) because Peterborough was “full.” No help just a call saying go figure it out.

In Oshawa, instructor Dan was great. Another underpaid guy holding it together who is absolutely fantastic. But again Trucks stinking of BO, sweat-soaked seats. It’s just totally unnecessary.
Broken visors, busted armrests. Broken plastics.
One had no A/C the instructor JayCee looked ready to pass out in the heat. He had to get camelbacks for water lol. One day, we showed up and a local drug addict had defecated into the trailer rims. Explosive diarrhea, It’s probably still there. Another day, I had to call the police because crack addicts were vomiting and screaming in the lot. This is Midtown Mall, Oshawa. To use the bathroom, you go inside where people are shooting up in the washroom stalls.

The Grand Finale Radio Silence.
Now I’ve been sitting here for two weeks. No schedule. No calls. No updates. I don’t even know if I’m still in the program. Just left in the dark.

Bottom Line:
This place is a government-funded dumpster fire. They collect $12–24K per student with hundreds registered no excuse for rundown equipment and chaos. The instructors are the only thing worth anything and they’re drowning in this mess. The facilities are unsafe. The vehicles are a disgrace. The management? They’re cashing in and couldn’t care less. Would I do it again? Hell no. Don’t let the photos fool you. This place is not what you’d think. I’d choose another school in hindsight.

After being recommended TTCC by several friends I thought I would get a few lessons with them to help me prepare for my G2 test. I could not have asked for a better experience as a student. Sanford was an excellent teacher! He was so patient with me and has a way of explaining complicated maneuvers in a simple and easy to understand way. I especially appreciated the effort he made to boost my confidence and make me feel at ease behind the wheel. I would definitely recommend lessons with Sanford to anyone who needs a little help behind the wheel!

Was trained by Joe for Heavy Equipment Operation & Jason for my AZ training.

Both were very thorough and detail oriented and were very patient and supportive during the learning process.

I learned a lot during my Heavy Equipment Training and got my AZC license on my first try and I may not have been able to succeed at that without Joe, Jason and Kasey.

Don’t even know where to begin. Jason has helped us through so much in an unexpected period of time. He came to us and his first day was our Day 9 lesson. Truck was acting up and just wasn’t a good day. However Jason worked with myself and fellow classmate Lindsey to get our AZ with 11/20 days remaining. He didn’t sugar coat, which we needed to pull ourselves together. From endless, coffee/smoke breaks to get us through our days. It is safe to say me and Lindsey have both passed our AZ road test first try! We already miss him and intend to visit!

Thank-you Reese,

wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the time, effort, and dedication you’ve invested in training me. Your guidance has made a significant difference in my learning experience, and I truly appreciate the knowledge and skills you’ve helped me develop.

From the very beginning, your patience, clarity, and deep understanding of the material stood out. You explained complex concepts in ways that were easy to grasp and never hesitated to answer questions or revisit a topic until it clicked. Your supportive and encouraging approach helped build my confidence and kept me motivated throughout the process.

What impressed me most was not only your expertise, but also the way you made the training engaging and practical. You clearly care about the success of those you train, and that level of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thanks to your guidance, I feel well-prepared and much more confident moving forward. It was truly a privilege to learn from someone as skilled and passionate as you.

With sincere gratitude,
[Isaac kalejaiye]

I had a great outcome today, I passed my road test. Let me tell you, it's been one heck of a journey. Getting my medical approved, waiting to start this course and so on.
Being the age I'm at, I was somewhat nervous showing up, but after meeting Reace, Darrel, and Jason, that nervousness went away immediately. They made me feel like part of the team. That being said, my Trainer is Reace Walker. He went above and beyond to make me feel confident and comfortable behind the wheel. His level of professionalism is outstanding, his patience is second to none!!!! I wouldn't be giving this review if it wasn't for him, and for that Reace, I'm grateful and so thankful for what you've done from day 1 up to this day. ( even though I gave you a small scare today lol) 🤌🤌🤌
As for Darrel and Jason, you 2 have my upmost respect!!!! I'm thankful for all the knowledge you added to my training as well.
I'm glad with my success from this school and I'm highly recommending TTCC!!!!!!
🤌🤌🤌🤌
And last of all, Kasey. I thank you for all the effort you have done for me towards this course. Your dedication goes above and beyond!!!! You helped out when help was needed and helped out when it wasn't needed. 😊 Greatly appreciated!!!!

Go up
