I did my 7 Hour seaplane rating with Lake Country Airways during a gorgeous and (unseasonably) warm late Fall weekend. The experience of Lake Country’s instructors (measured in 1000s if not 10,000s of hours) is a world apart from the fresh-off-the-instructor-rating assembly line instructors of your typical flight school, it was a absolute privilege to learn here!

Lake Country Airways operates amazing private charter and float plane tour services! While safety is always a priority, they commit to working with you to accomplish your request swiftly and cost effectively. Lake Country Airways is cheaper then most charter/tour company's in the area, they have a very qualified pilots and knowledgeable staff. Lake Country Airways has a great airport environment, with Orillia Aviation, maintenance shop available next store, and Tailwinds bar and Grill down the hall, I highly recommend Lake Country airways for everyone, pilot or not. If you are a pilot and looking for your float rating, or someone who has dreamed of flying, Lake Country Airways has a flight school that can teach you to fly normally or with floats! Their Fleet is amazing, consisting of 3 Cessna 172, 2 Cessna 185, 2 DeHaviland Beavers (built in the 1950's!) , 1 Turbo Beaver and soon a Cessna 206. I have flown in both Beavers, they are very comfortable the pilots were amazing!

We had an absolutely beautiful scenic flight over Muskoka Lakes from Orillia a few days ago with a very fun float plane. The folks at Lake Country Airlines made it even more special for us with fantastic friendly service - special thanks our wonderful pilot Isaac (who even let my cousin "fly" the plane for a few minutes which really jazzed us both!!) and the lovely Kathryn who so kindly handled our booking. The airport is in a beautiful lakefront location and has a great restaurant with views of the float plane action on the lake, plus amazing vintage airplane decor, great food and super staff. We had an amazing day!!

Bought a flight for hubby's b day. Knew it was the perfect gift when he looked at me from the cockpit smiling from ear to ear. Mike, our pilot, was awesome. We felt very safe and learned a lot. Our customized itinerary took us over some of our favorite places to give us a whole new perspective.

My son entrusted his float-plane training to LCA. They went above and beyond to ensure he was successful in his mission in obtaining his seaplane rating. Overall extremely satisfied, and will be back for more training. Thanks guys! EDIT: My son did indeed come back for the 25 hour Career Bush Pilot training. Just celebrated our wedding anniversary by surprising hubby with a Fly & Dine excursion to Henry’s today via a Cessna! Lake Country Airway —Orillia staff (Lorraine, Kathryn, Isaac) were super friendly and patient and our pilot (thx John) was very friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Crazy to imagine in the morning we were on Lake Simcoe and after some gorgeous aerial sightseeing we’re sitting at a gorgeous island patio on Georgian Bay (near Parry Sound) enjoying delicious pickerel Fish and chips (thx Claire)!
Definitely recommend this Fly & Dine experience to “cross it off your bucket list”!
