Great place for families big and small. I have been attending the playgroup program for 8 years with one more year to go until my youngest is in school. As a stay at home mom this program has offered myself and my children an opportunity to socialize and make life-long friends. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. My time with family place is winding down but the centre has played a huge role in my children’s first play experience so it will always be remembered fondly.

Really appreciate the staff for the support they gave to the mom and child. Being a first time mom the sessions were really helpful. Even in the mid of pandemic the initiative taken by them to conduct the program online was very useful. The interactive sessions give each mom new information on how to take care of the baby. Even after the delivery the coordinator of my program was doing follow up to check the wellbeing of both mom and the newborn.

Our family has the highest regard for the programs run by The Family Place. I strongly wish we found the program sooner, please be sure to share to everyone you know about this exceptional place. My granddaughter was a very frightened 16 year old, who found herself in a very scary situation of being a new mom. The team at Family Place were exceptional,
welcoming her during her pregnancy without judgement. Helping us prepare her for what was to come. The labor, delivery, and what to expect emotionally before and after delivery. They provided so much information on having a new baby as well as coping skills , with the all important shoulder to cry on. When her new baby boy Benjamin arrived they were there with love, compassion and understanding. The classes for Wee Ones was very informative, with putting Elizabeth at ease with what mile stones to expect as well as being fun for mom and baby.
During this very difficult time we live in with Covid closures everyone isolated and alone, Tosin organized Zoom meetings so mommies and babies could interact. Fantastic idea!!! Family Place helped my granddaughter keep herself together facing the struggles a new mom experiences. The program offers more than booklets and your sent on your way.
The staff are there for these pregnant and new moms with love, emotional support , baby clothes, fresh veg, milk, snacks, to the very important home visits to help. They also have a service if you don't have transportation. No problem they will provide a taxi to and from, so you can take part.
Just as the name says "Family Place" with emphasis on Family a safe, loving , self esteem building family. I cannot praise the team at Family Place enough for their professionalism and for what all great Families do, provide a strong foundation, show love and compassion. I thank you all, the staff that are behind the scenes making sure everything runs smooth to the counseling staff Tosin , Jade, Mark for helping our family. Xoxo

Great place for parents especially new parents and children aged 0 to 5. I have been attending the classes since the 20th week of my pregnancy and the coordinator of my group ‘Mis. Tosin Ossuneye ‘ has played a great role in my first pregnancy experience. I really appreciate the support they giving to each mom and child.

Great experience with family resource centre.I have been attending the baby building group in 2021.For me it's really useful , I am a first time mom also the staff who was taking the program was so knowledgeable. It's very helpful for the moms to attend the class.

Displeased with there lack of interest to assist with and help with family services and family support.... felt as thou I was just a number to a person who simply pushes a government funded pen. As a citizen of Nova Scotia I would strongly suggest a review of these programs and the network of resources with in the functional capacity of family resource place....that being said it would also be nice to see family place support the oidealisim of family support towards there clients. This is key to helping any family. as a family is not a individual act of one person but is a group action between 2 or more people. I feel as thou there actions towards me adversely effects the betterment of my family life

This is an excellent social service available to families. They provide parenting classes, children's clothing, and play groups for children aged 0 - 5 years.
