Listen, you get what you pay for. If you pay $87 you get the Hi-Valley Motor Inn. The lady at the front desk was wonderful. No notes. I was a little freaked out that there was going to be no employees there from 1:30am to 9:30am because as soon as I walked into the lobby I knew it was bad.
I’m a woman travelling alone so I literally put chairs in front of the doors because the doors didn’t feel secure (video added). I tried to take a bath to chill out but the water came out very murky. I felt like a swamp witch. I’m not necessarily complaining, just saying don’t be cheap and level up a bit if you have the means (which I did so why did I put myself through this? Cheap) because you will NOT have a very restful night. Blessings to the nice night clerk. You’re great. See you in hell, Hi-Valley Motor Inn.

The hotel is in very much needed reno! The room was safe the bed nice much better than expected. The staff friendly.
The resturant food was not speical. It was a very good value to food amount provided and taste. Much like fast food of the type but better value than most places.

Carpets are stained in the building, bath tubs look like they were painted a few times and are being chipped away around the drain. Beds feel like they haven’t been replaced in 20 years, they have a sign out front the says( newly renovated) I think that’s an absolute lie. I could hear the couple next to me either talking or arguing they weren’t even talking that loud but I could hear every word. If it were me I’d stay clear of this place and spend the money at the place down the road.

Strong smell of mold. The smell is so strong that i felt sick the next day. The place is disgusting and should be avoided at all cost. I stayed in third world countries cheap hotels at 8$ a night and this is by far the worst places i ever stayed.

Late December 2016, road heading north gets completely obscured by whiteout as dusk falls, so I was happy to escape into a motel with vacancy. And lots of empty rooms, which other reviews can discuss. But room 201 was NOT disgusting! It could be the photo at the top of this TripAdvisor article. Bed was comfortable, sheets seemed clean, bathroom was basic but acceptable. Good TV. Even a comfortable chair. Not a Best Western, but quite OK for the night.||Main problem was that heat came from window-style air conditioner aimed at bed's pillow, and the unit required the (loud) fan to be on whenever it was supplying heat. So I eventually turned the heating off, and surprisingly the room stayed a reasonable temperature for sleep throughout the night. ||Summary: a good night's rest out of the winter weather. Good price, too: $69.

The room was very very cold. I had to bundle up to go to bed. The WiFi is horrible. It kept cutting in and out throughout my stay. So did the phone service. 1 bar to 3 bars in just a couple inches. The bathroom was disgusting and I really didn't want to take a shower in it. And to top it all off, the bedding smelled like rig dope. No where near clean. It was absolutely disgusting. I will never be coming back. The only good thing I can say is the front desk lady was very kind and very helpful. That's it.

Uneffing believable. Acknowledging the fact that this is a very old and somewhat dilapidated structure should be your first assumption BEFORE booking here. Cons: While I am in absolutely no way "snobbish", this is a new low for me in hotel stays with the previous "low" being the Stafford Motel in Whitehorse. The room was noisy - as in the heater had to run a lot. The room had a musty odor, but conspicuously covered up with Pine Sol (or equivalent). The floor boards were coming loose and a true trip hazard. Transition to "wood" flooring was not secured to rotted out subfloor - I think it was just laid over rotting subfloor as there were many "soft spots" noticeable when walking across. There was old baseboard rubbish - as in baseboards that were torn out stored on top of clothes rack, the doors were barely serviceable. The bathroom sink was filthy around faucet and handles. Pro: The water pressure was excellent, and there was plenty of hot water. The management had a handy list posted to keep most of the local riff-raff out - or at least from being the one who booked the room for a night of drunken partying. But then again, maybe I got the only dirty room there - who knows. I will be sure to get a tetanus shot. P.S. The Chinese food from the restaurant was bland, and tasted as if made from freezer burned stock - but then again, maybe I got the only bad order as I ordered take out (to take back to my lovely room you see).||||Update: I have to assume the Motel Owners/Managers failed to appreciate my objective review, so they committed fraud and charged me for another night a month later while I was with Family in Florida. They claimed (lied) and said I was a "no show" on the night I stayed (therefore unable to leave an honest review), and since I liked staying there so much, booked another night on Christmas eve! RCMP was notified and has investigated BE AWARE - THEY ARE CRIMINALS!
