The airport has a cozy and nice terminal, with a small cafe. The airport staffs were very kind. It was my first time in the airport and I was bit confused where to park the plane, how to find the way to terminal, they answered my phone call and gave me a kind direction. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again!

Such a serene place to visit. There’s trails from the airport, many business and much action to watch, some military flights, and they have a new viewing deck with Adirondack chairs!

Great airports. Quick thorough security.

Be sure to attend the "Wings and Wheels"
car/plane show every year. Last time I got a ride in the Flying Duck for $20. Included a landing/take off in the lake. Amazing.

Visiting pilots beware, you will get charged a parking fee regardless of the length of time stopped at the airport. I managed to collect 2 days of parking fees for a single 8 hour period.

Airport closes at 5 pm. They still let you in there if you have a flight, but nothing is open. You are out of luck if your terrible airline has cancelled your 5 pm flight and moved it to 8 pm just because. You can't get any food unless you order Skip the Dishes or something. So you can eat out of the vending machines, which are insanely overpriced AND charge you tax. Tax!! Who ever heard of that on a candy machine. And let's talk about the security team. First they will make you take off everything you are wearing, including your toque because maybe you a hiding a very tiny device in there. For blowing up the plane between Vancouver and Campbell River. With a full plane of 19 passengers and 2 pilots. Because that makes sense, right? So then you put all your stuff into 18 different trays and wait for them to invite your through the scanner thing, which will beep at you even though you are basically naked and there isn't a single thing on you that could make it go off. So hurrah! You have won the opportunity to have your hands and every single article you own scanned with a stupid wand that doesn't even have a piece of cotton or whatever it is they usually pretend to be gathering "particles" with. Then the security person scanning all of your items from your carry on will ask you in front of everyone if you have food in your bag. Yes you answer. What is it? Yogurt and berries. She digs into your bag, in front of the entire line waiting behind you and assuming you are a criminal because why else would they be targeting you so much. Pulls out the glass, see through container, where you can clearly see it's yogurt and berries, opens it, sniffs it, makes a disgusted face, then tosses it at you so you can close it. So every item you had in your carry on bag is now in 18 different trays and you are trying to pack it back in to your bag so you can get out of the way and all the other people behind you, who are also 3 hours behind now and probably also exhausted and hangry, when the harridan with the magic wand grabs your bag out of your hands and claims she needs to swab it. Why? You ask. No answer. So she swabs the bag, inside and out, swabs everything else, including your laptop, keeps looking for things to swab, oh no, now she's down and there's nothing left to swab. Pulls the laptop you are trying to pack away out of your hands and claims she has to open it. Why? You ask, you just swabbed it. Because, is her name incredibly useful reply. Why? You ask again, seriously annoyed and knowing they are targetting you - apparently they also did not want to stay an extra 3 hours, which I get. Still she does not reply, opens the laptop, sees absolutely nothing to be suspicious about, spams it shut and drops it back in the tray. I asked for a business card for the supervisor at the end, oh no we don't have any of those. Just worst experience I have ever had in an airport. And I slept overnight at Heathrow once.
