Was pleasantly surprised with this campground. It was clean, people were very respectful of garbage and the shared toilets..... OMG, the toilets flushed!!! My only complaint would be the lots are very rocky, so it was almost impossible to peg our tent down. Also, if you're planning on sharing a site with friends, make sure to double-check the lot as our was too small and a 3rd of our tent hung over the ledge (this was totally our mistake)

We were told we had to pay for a second vehicle. However, we did not have to pay upon registering. I'm not sure if this was a one-off or something they do if the campground isn't too busy, but it was a nice surprise.

The beach area was gross, however, just full of goose poop (I don't know if this is to be expected). However, we did not stay at the beach for more than 15 minutes.

Was very family orientated, didn't hear anybody partying, or getting super loud & drunk despite seeing LOTS of people drinking. So that was a huge bonus.

The kids' playground was ok. Be prepared to bring a towel or something for the kids to sit on as the slides are both metal.

This is our first time camping with our children (8 years old and twin 6 year old), and we will absolutely be camping here again.

4 out of 5 stars 🌟

Stop here for lunch on our way to Banff. Not one person was around. The toilets are locked tho. The pit ones are available. No campers. Very peaceful Lake. Looks like a very popular spot in the summer. The water looked jumping with fish. Had our lunch and bounced.

Very nice.
The park is well served.
There are areas for camping, playing, swimming, and kayaking, or rest and enjoy the magnificent scenery of nature. There are plenty of picnic tables.
You can barbecue in it.

Great little provincial park. Easy to find and a nice area for camping. I slept in my car, so the gravel parking didn’t affect my sleep but if I was tenting I’d need a mat of some kind for sure. Pleasantly surprised by the flushing toilets throughout the camp grounds.
Nice lake and swimming area. Took a stroll in the morning to watch the sun come up. Very peaceful even with being so close to the highway.

Gorgeous location, quiet campground (in mid June), good facilities with clean flush toilets, lots of picnic tables on the lake and in a sheltered area, tons of trails all around. No showers.

While we were here, the pipes were in repair, so water had to be boiled to make it potable. It's quite windy, so if you're car camping and have rain in the forecast, bring suitable gear.

Have stayed here many many times over the years, it's a great spot for families, with lots of sites and lots of things to do for the kids. It is a higher elevation so make sure you bring warmer clothes for the evening! The views from Waxwing Lane are beautiful if you manage to nab one of those sites. It's in cell service which is nice, and there are flushing toilets, and proper changerooms with running water and sinks near the beach. The dog friend area bt the water is very small, and the beach can get very crowded, but, if you're there for a weekend you'll find a spot and some time.

Beautiful lake, very clean toilets serviced many times a day, most people very friendly, staff friendly & keep the peace & will tell people to turn down or off music/loud noise if they are around when a disturbance happens.
Camps are also clean & maintained.
The Resort & boat/kayak rentals were not open.
People do tend to follow the 10pm no noise curfew while camping, which is nice (except when people are driving - there often is very loud music from vehicals coming/going/moving).
Flush toilets too were generally clean.
There was someone going around twice a day offering ice (probably have to buy, we did not need any) so that's also good. I'm sure they would sell firewood too in non-fireban seasons.

If you're disabled, Autistic/ADHD, hyperacusis, misophonia or any other sensory issues, it's not peacefully quiet as some reviews say & the hills are quite steep so please be careful, if you require mobility aids the trails may be difficult as there are fallen logs across many paths. You will need earplugs or noise cancelling headphones or both for noise. Cicadas start around 8pm & go until around 2am. The highway is hearable all day & louder at night. There are people that play very loud bass/music on the water which carries all the way to the camp sites, so beware if you're bass sensitive. On the Friday & Saturday nights we were there around 8/9pm people walked around with loud music playing & heavy heavy bass & thankfully someone told them to shut it off & also thankfully they listened. But we noticed when one person started up music, others would too, especially in the early morning or late evenings, so it was a matter of patience+noise cancelling headphones before they were told to turn it down or off.

There are lots of trails & places to walk & explore. We saw a toad at night which was awesome. You can hear loons on the lake all night long, like coyotes or wolves talkin to each other, its beautiful. There are chipmunks, squirrels, juncos, butterflies, wild/woodland strawberries, wild sages, ravens galore, flickers, robins, humming birds, loons, geese, frogs, toads, cicadas, swallows, redwing blackbirds, ground squirrels, eagles, gold beetles, all sorts of wildlife & edible plants. I didn't see any snakes or lizards so herping was a no go (the single toad we saw on our way to the bathroom we didnt have clean enough hands to handle so we just observed with our eyes & I'm not familiar with the species - I'd never seen one like it here, it was huge). Heard many other species of birds I could hear but not see. Walking along the lakeside going towards the resort, there are many bees & flowers, so there's lots to look at. Sunday morning as we were getting ready to leave/packing/making food/etc, a squirrel kept us company, crawling over our stuff, it was cute.
So if you like wildlife & plants, this place is great to explore!

Warning; there are very agressive horseflies by the lakeside, one single one followed us/trying to land & bite for over 1km while walking back from checking out the resort. There were others but this one would not stop until it was heavily stunned, bug spray did not help. We had to let it land before we could smack it & it took the whole kilometer before we finally landed a hit & got away from it.

All in all, beautiful place, staff is great, clean bathrooms, but there is also a lot of noise from the lake & highway & campers (the noise curfew is pretty well maintained, save for those driving around the camp coming or going right before closing time). I might visit again in the future, there's more I'd like to do/explore. Would be nice to get to rent a canoe/kayak for a paddle when rentals open again.
I'm giving it 3 stars, the noise was just a bit too much to rank higher for someone like myself, but if you don't care about/are not sensitive to bass or highway noises then it's probably a great place for you to check out! 😀

Beautiful spot. The day use area is lovely. Well spaced out picnic tables. A couple of docks to fish at there and a boat launch a ways away. Great lake for kayaking and paddleboarding. Dogs are allowed at one end of the park only.
There are flush toilets all around the campground, even the "outhouses" are flush toilets. There is a hiking trail we didn't try. Park workers were really nice, kept everything very clean and were unobtrusive.
It is high altitude so, at least while we were there, it was fairly windy and when the sun is out it is really hot and when it's not it's pretty chilly. It was freezing at night, bring warm layering clothes and really warm bedding. We were here early-mid August.
