Very beautiful place, completely isolated in the best way. My partner and I had a very healing stay here. The lake is wonderful and the silence is inspiring. Thanks to the very friendly hosts too! They gave a warm welcome! We will be back 🙂

I went there for three nights to see the meteor shower, this is one of my best trip this year. I hoped to stay for only two nights at the beginning but at the end, I wanted to stay longer.
Room is amazing, clean and cute, I enjoyed having meal on the porch. At night I can see the Milky Way. Everything was amazing, hope to go there again

Secluded and lovely. The cabins are simple but comfortable. Hosts are very kind. We didn't stay long, but this place is now on my list for a future, longer vacation. A wonderful place to unplug (but still have Internet) and relax.

Amazing getaway for families and anyone wanting to find some peace, quiet and rejuvenation. Barbara and Joe are amazing hosts and keep the cabins and property in top condition. Honestly, we didn't see anyone most of our trip, there is a lot of space between cabins to give that feeling of remote wilderness whilst having creature comforts. Lots to do on the property including hikes, fishing and visiting the animals. Lots to do around the area too and relatively easy access. I highly recommend it. I also recommend being self contained as there are not a lot of services available nearby (as in food, drink, etc).

My wife and I stayed in the yurt on the property and could not have been happier. The yurt is fully kitted out and far more comfortable than most hotel rooms. The property itself is amazing. Although there were a lot of wildfires in BC which obstructed the distant view, the tall grass field and forest surrounding was beautiful on its own. It was the ideal location to do as much or as little as you want to with lots of local hikes, bigger lakes nearby, shorter hikes and a pond on site, or just take in a good book in the peaceful surroundings.
The hosts are fantastic! Barbara and Joe were both very kind and ensured we had and knew everything we needed. Had a great time talking to Joe about the local area and the farm itself. They also made sure that despite the smoke from the fires the solar powered yurt was always charged up by using the generator when we were not on site (so it didn't disturb us).
We had a lovely four nights and would definitely recommend this to anyone.

This little hidden gem is a short drive just east of Lumby. The cabin was exceptional, the hosts were first rate, and the scenery was beautifully silent and breathtaking. A perfect and affordable place to hit the reset button on your brain and your life when things are needing it. This place was a perfect fall getaway, looks like it would be amazing in the summer. I would recommend either planning to do absolutely nothing which is always a great plan, or if like me, plan ahead for some great hiking, fishing, or just day trips around as it accommodates both with its location.

Best ever holiday and our five nights at a cabin in Bear Valley was the best part of that holiday. The cabin was spacious, very comfortable with everything we needed. However the cabin is a secondary consideration to the spectacular location in which it sits. Beautiful countryside, total peace and tranquility and therefore perfect relaxation and opportunity to truly unwind. Plenty of wildlife spotted during our stay (hummingbird, gopher, chipmunks, muskrat and marmot to name just a few). The lake was beautiful and was amazing to swim in. Paddle boards and canoes are provided. Finally this is a family business and from meeting them it is apparent that they are passionate about the location and ensuring their guests have a great time. Very much achieved for us - thank you 😀

We travelled from the Highlands in Scotland to stay at Bear Valley Highlands in BC for a week back in July and just fell in love with the place. The cabin was very comfortable with everything you could need. There was so much wildlife right on the door step and plenty of great places to explore nearby. We have never met such a nice bunch of people as in the Lumby area. Everywhere we went folks were friendly and helpful. But the most special thing about the place was Joe and Barbara and their collection of animals. Dusty the quarter horse was the highlight for our youngest daughter and you couldn't fail to like the adorable Sammy (the dog) who would regularly appear at the cabin just for the craic! Lilly, the guardian dog, was also a big softy, despite patrolling the farm all night for unwelcome critters. As for the goats, you really don't need a TV with that lot about. Joe and Barbara have an idyllic setup and have worked hard to get there. They are rightly proud but equally modest about what they have achieved at Bear Valley and so kind to share it so freely with others. Nothing was too much trouble and you were treated very much as friends rather than customers. We were all genuinely sad to leave, but hope to return again one day.
