After reading all the one star reviews of this hospital how is it still open? Why has there not been an inquiry. My 81 year old mother has been twice in the last week by ambulance and the second time was denied seeing a doctor as she was told there was no doctor available and to go home. How is this legal? She was confused and in excruciating pain. She had a horrible accident and may have a fractured neck. But they are not treating her. Only giving her pain killers. She needs a diagnosis. I am in Ontario and it’s so frustrating knowing that this is what our health care system has been reduced to. However, as a public servant myself, there is absolutely no excuse for the rudeness from staff. I am filing a complaint and contacting the department of health. This is just shameful.

Spent more than 8h there, and was made wait on purpose. Anyone who comes after me (no matter the case and even if mine is more urgent than theirs) was being seen and i was being ignored. At a certain point I was alone in the waiting room for a few hours without being seen and someone who arrived with a minor case was seen right away. So why was i being ignored on purpose? Is it a form of discrimination? The nurse didn't even probe enough or ask how intense my pain is but assumed it was not urgent. I explained 2 times after each 3-4h of wait that I am in pain and it can't be labeled not urgent, but was just dismissed by the nurse. I had to return home in pain and just wasted 8h of my time! If the Dr doesn't want to see someone, just advise and don't waste our time!!!

if i could a - into the stars i would. Even if you come into the hospital with an ambulance with stroke like systems be prepared to be evaluated by a nurse, who doesn't even look at you, then given a bracelet and put in the er. I have seen myself waiting almost twelve hours to see a doctor because my seizures will not end. They always just scratch there heads like they dont know what they're doing.
Its also not very friendly, one doctor if yer lucky on staff in the er at a time. Nurses who just seem to be cold and uncaring.
Its a nightmare for wheelchair uses as there is no space in the er to park, sit and wait. There are chairs everywhere and not enough of them. Iv seen people standing or sitting on the floor.
They need a serious health review, more doctors, no more dismissing symptoms because they've existed before and no more "we cant do much for you here you'll have to contact your family doctor and see him"
I have never had a good experience in this hospital.

My father in law 97 years old waited 915 am to 330 pm. We took him home without seeing a doctor. At that point nobody had been called in to see the doctor for over 2 hours. Hire some nurse practitioners. There is one training at Martha Vickers. She's leaving in March but if she had a job at emergency department the people could be processed. And people could live and not die.

I went into the ER on a Saturday night and it was packed so I knew I had a long wait, when I got there everyone was minding their own business Everyone was quiet, After 2 hours of being there, a man who was in pain and having trouble sitting in his chair decided to lay down on the floor, he was sleeping peacefully, minding his own business and then security started to bother him Telling him that he had to sit in his chair or leave He explained to them that he is not well and he can't. Over the course of 20 minutes the security guards harassed him.. not giving any solutions to the issue of how he could not sit up so They proceeded to call the cops and not only one cop bit five cops showed up to harass this man who came into the ER because he was unwell so unwell he couldn't sit up.

On the same night One of the night ER female doctors who works There has the most unprofessional and rude cold attitude I've ever been greeted with at the hospital.

I went in for a suspected miscarriage at 18 weeks and after waiting 6 hours I finally got called in and she asked me what I was there for today and I explained to her that I have not felt my baby move for 2 days and that I'm experiencing a lot of abdominal pain, she looked at me laughed and said I did not feel my baby move from that early on because most pregnancies only start to feel around 18 weeks. But this is my fifth pregnancy and after my first I felt movements early on which I explained to her. Then she proceeded to ask me what I thought she would be able to do... I told her that she was the doctor I came in here to make sure my baby was alive And I wasn't walking around with a dead baby in my stomach.. after her being quiet for 2 minutes staring at me She guessed that she'll go get the ultrasound to check on baby.
she was rude with her facial expressions and her blank stares and her laughing. I've never felt more judged for going into the ER because I thought my baby died.
In the OB clinic they tell you if you have any concerns or any pains that don't go away, go to the ER. And yet I go to the ER and you guys make me feel like I wasted your time.

This is only one of the incidences that has happened at this hospital, by far do not recommend coming here. And I wish this wasn't the only hospital in Bathurst. We deserve a better
