It’s been awhile since I was here but my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Very cool place.

Great series of trails in a lovely conservation area! Perfect for a short hike.

When you get there, park on the grass behind the solar panels. Leave a little cash in the donation box on the way to the barn. Before you get to the barn, turn to the right and walk west. Keep walking west until you look left and see a trailhead sign.

Hiking to the lake was easy! This part of the lake is marshy with lots of tall reeds and lilypads. It is beautiful! The trail alongside the lake / marsh is a bit overgrown, but there are boardwalks in all the right places so it wasn't muddy. (There had been no rain for a few days, so it might be muddy soon after it rains) It looks like they are preparing to upgrade the boardwalks, and otherwise it is very well maintained.

I took my girl guides there and it is now my favourite place. We had a guided tour and our guide was amazing. She was able to keep the attention of the girls (age 5 to 12) and was very knowledgeable. Even though it rained the whole time, the hike was worth it. Definitely remember to wear rubber boots. The view from the dock is beyond words. I love how there is lots of educational plagues, that you can go on your own and still learn. I am already planning our next outing there. The staff are very accommodating and offer alot of educational sessions.

A winter wonderland. We did a brisk 1 hour snowshoe around the trails. Lovely property. Worth leaving a donation.

Came here to walk on the trails but just as we were approaching the trail, two huge dogs ran to us barking. They blocked the trail and then followed us back yo our car until we left.

Completely abandoned on Saturday of Thanksgiving long weekend. Trails were open and marked. Board walk on Beaver trail seemed sketchy and that train just ended.
Glad hubby was with me.
Maybe it is the spooky season talking but felt deserted in a scary way.
That said, outhouse had toilet paper!
I'll go back in summer or when there is an activity happening.

It's obvious a lot of hard work has gone into this place. We came for hiking in the winter and the late spring and both times had a wonderful time. Good trails and lots of trees. Pretty lookout at the lake with a small dock. Definitely worth a visit!
