Update:
The costume was finally allowed to be altered a month before final recital. For this reason I have updated my rating. A lot of the kids' costumes in my daughter's class were altered. I just do not understand why they wouldn't just do it during the first fitting when it is too obvious. On another note, I want to say that the performances of the students during the recital were very memorable.

My daughter used to go to a different dance studio, but a friend recommended this studio and had very nice things to say. So here we are. The studio is nice, my daughter's teachers are all wonderful, the staff that's on duty every sunday morning is so friendly. My daughter looks forward to her dance class every week. What made me decide not to go back to this studio in the future is the lack of accountability, and the excuses they (i don't want to mention name/s) make to justify a mistake that is very obvious. One of the reviews here mentioned that they care more about the money - i think this to be true. Recitals are in May 2025. Costume measurements were done around November 2024. The costumes arrived for pick up February 11th. As soon as we got them, my daughter tried it on, and right then and there we saw how this costume barely fits her especially around the neck where there is chaffing happening. I paid $125 for this costume. They did a measurement only for us to find a tag on the costume that says S (small). That is straight highway robery right there. We received an email that said, if the costumes dont fit, they are happy to offer free alterations but it has to be approved first. So we went, showed that it barely fits, especially around the neck. The excuses they said included - "we account for growth". (Well obviously not. The measurement was taken November 2024, for May 2025 recital.) "The costumes are from the US, we don't know if they still have the size in stock. We are already having problems with the other costumes we had to cancel 2 groups costume orders and have it done in the city" (i mean what's the point of measuring each student just to give them a generic XS,S,M whatever sizes there are. why can't they have my daughter's costume altered in the city too). When I showed my daughter's neck red and chaffing after she put it on for them to see, "they say that's sensitivity." (No it's not, it is the costume being darn too tight). "It is suppose to be tight because if they bend down we don't want it lose." ( i understand, but what happened to having my daughter comfortable while wearing it). "We tell parents to have the kids wear the costume at home to stretch it out." (Wear at home to stretch while chaffing my daughter's neck?). "Let's see on picture day" (when is picture day) "april 21. It's on the email." (like my child will grow smaller in 2 months and magically fits the costume with no tightness on the neck) " We sometimes leave the button off before performance, and clip it on right before the performance." (Like what? I PAID $125 for them to say these things and not even acknowledge my concern?). So as wonderful as the teachers are, unfortunately this is a deal breaker. We parents do so much for our kids so they enjoy activities like this, and it seems there are people/businesses out there that take advantage. These are hard earned money for just a maybe 10 minutes that my daughter will wear her costume, the least they can do is acknowledge their mistake. The dance studio I used to take her, we didnt pay anything for the costume, it was included in the tuition (which is by the way more reasonably priced vs LA dance). That studio rents the costumes, which i think makes sense especially if the kids only wears them once and very short time. I mean if the parents want to keep the costumes as souvenirs, then maybe have the option for the rent to buy instead of charging parents exorbitant amounts for a costume that the kids will probably not be able to wear again and make dozens of excuses. I hope other parents can learn from this. I sure did

Great experience at LA Dance Academy! The directors are amazing and the staff and teachers are awesome to work with. Highly recommend to any families looking for a good dance experience for their kids.

My daughter has been dancing at L.A. Dance Academy for a few years now and she absolutely loves it!! She is always asking if/when she is back in the studio. The staff are so professional and incredibly friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We look forward to future years with LADA 💚

I don’t usually write reviews, but I thought I would share my experience!

I have been dancing at L.A. Dance Academy since I was at least six years old. Every single staff member has shown me so much love, and the environment has been so welcoming since the beginning.

I used to be painfully shy. So, my parents put me in dance to break me out of my shell. It’s safe to say that it worked! I am now on multiple competitive teams, and have been provided with so many incredible opportunities.

This studio has shaped me into the person I am today. They taught me, not only how to dance, but how to be a respectful, kind, and responsible person.

I will forever be thankful for everything they have done for me.

My family has been a dance family at L.A.D.A for 9 seasons and we absolutely love this studio. Friendly, knowledgeable faculty who always make everyone feel like family. We live closer to another studio and would never even think of going anywhere else, despite the drive. We love LA Dance Academy!!! 💚

I love dancing at LA dance academy! I’ve had such a positive experience here and love every minute I spend at the studio! I’ve been dancing here since I was 3 years old and I’m now 17, all the teachers and staff are so friendly and whenever I walk into the studio Mr Alex is always smiling and welcoming.

In the time I have been involved with the studio, I have nothing but a positive experience. I find staff and management to be friendly and very approachable, always willing to help when needed. Throughout the pandemic the studio has maintained a very high standard of cleanliness, always keeping students and staff safety in mind. I have been a part of the dance community for over 25 yrs first as a parent, and now as a student, and I have to say LA has been amazing.

My daughter has completed two Mommy and Me sessions with L.A.. Dance Academy. We are also registered for the Spring session. We love taking these classes together! Her instructor is also excellent!!
