Our two daughters joined EMA in 2021 and we couldn't be happier. Sensei Gord and Sensei Ashley and their team have been incredible. Both our girls have progressed through their belts (now at advanced brown!) and along the way have learned patience, resiliency, respect, and autonomy. EMA reinforces the importance of de-escalation while teaching students how to defend themselves if necessary. My one daughter struggles with confidence and EMA has been there to help her every step of the way (in particular Sensei Gord and Sensei Ava). Both girls have progressed with respect to learning their forms and gained physical and mental strength along the way. We love it here, my girls love it here, and we can't wait for them to earn their black belts! I highly recommend EMA to anyone (young or not so young!) interested in martial arts.

Both lead Instructors are the embodiment of the Martial Arts Discipline. They exercise patience with students who struggle and challenge those that are a little more skilled. Their direction and life lessons are pure and simple. You witness all students leaving the dojo with a sense of accomplishment and a huge smile! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this karate class and Coach Gord! From the very first session, it was evident how much passion and dedication Coach Gord brings to teaching. Their ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels is truly remarkable.
