We registered our child for tryouts at Ancaster Legacy Club and paid $25 on the very first day registration opened, only to find out later they introduced an early-bird discount which we didn’t receive. That’s not a major issue, but we had high expectations for the tryout sessions since they were paid, whereas many clubs run theirs for free.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. On the first day, three evaluators spent most of their time talking amongst themselves and hardly seemed to notice the kids or their skills. The second day was slightly better in terms of attention, but still far from enough to properly see the children’s potential. Often when a child made a good move, the evaluator was looking the other way or distracted.

My child plays very well and has received excellent feedback from other clubs, so if your child doesn’t get selected here, don’t be discouraged — try other clubs who can recognize true potential.

To make matters worse, we weren’t informed of the results even after three weeks. I had to call four times and send two emails before finally receiving a “sorry” reply.

The only positive points were the polite lady at the reception and their punctuality. Overall, this experience showed me that the low ratings and feedback this club receives are not without reason.

Edit. My bad, fee was 20$ other than that you missed the whole point of feedback. It is not about the number of coaches and other fancy titles you may have on papers. Also "coaches were asked to inform" but they didn't, so that proves they are not doing the job properly.

This is our fourth year with ALFC, and we’ve seen incredible growth and improvements at both the team and club level. The coaching staff is supportive and committed to developing not only strong athletes, but also confident and respectful young players. My son absolutely loves his coach, feels motivated to train hard, and looks forward to every practice and game.

The club itself is well‑organized, communicates clearly with families, and provides a positive, inclusive environment for all players. It has been amazing to watch my son’s skills, confidence, and love for the game continue to grow year after year. We’re so glad to be a part of this club and highly recommend it to other families.

We couldn’t be happier with Ancaster Legacy Soccer! From the moment my boys joined the league, we were welcomed with such warmth and professionalism. The coaching style here is exceptional and every coach we’ve met is not only knowledgeable about the game but also incredibly patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in the growth of each player.
What stands out the most is how the coaches focus on developing strong foundational skills while also teaching teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. They know how to challenge the kids in a positive way, helping them grow both on and off the field. My boys come home from every practice and game smiling, more confident, and excited for the next time they get to play.
It’s clear that Ancaster Legacy Soccer is more than just a league, it’s a community that truly cares about its players. We are so grateful to be part of it and look forward to many more seasons ahead.

My daughter has played for Ancaster Legacy (rep) for two years. The experience we’ve had, from the club, to the training, to the opportunities, has all been exceptional. we’ve seen incredible development in her soccer skills. In particular, coaches Andre and Dave are everything you would want in a coach for your child. The girls exemplify sportsmanship and camaraderie which is a testament to the team culture that the coaches have created.

Our son played with the Ancaster Legacy U8 Rep Team this past season, and the experience has been absolutely phenomenal! From day one, the coaches created a positive, energetic, and supportive environment where every player felt valued. The training sessions were well-structured, focused on skill development, and always kept the kids engaged and excited to learn.

We’ve seen incredible growth in our son’s confidence, technical ability, and love for the game. He went from being a good player to truly thriving, and that is 100% thanks to the dedication and passion of the coaching staff. They pushed the players to work hard while still keeping things fun, which made every practice and game something our son looked forward to.

What really stood out to us was how often other parents and players from opposing teams commented on the skill level, teamwork, and quality of coaching they saw from our team. It was clear that Ancaster Legacy is developing players the right way, and that recognition from others made us even prouder to be part of the club.

The program itself is thriving under the outstanding leadership of Director of Operations, Chris Markou. Chris is deeply invested in the success of every player and has a clear vision for building one of the strongest youth programs in the region. His professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for the game show in every aspect of the club. Chris goes above and beyond to bring in opportunities that most programs simply don’t offer — including regular clinics with semi-pros, international players, and McMaster athletes, who bring incredible expertise and energy to the kids. His presence is felt everywhere: in the smooth organization, in the quality of coaching, and in the way families are welcomed and supported. It’s rare to see a leader so hands-on and dedicated, and we feel very fortunate to have him guiding this program.

A huge shout-out as well to Coach Padriac, Coach Dave, and Coach Frank, who work tirelessly with the younger age groups. Their knowledge, dedication, and ability to inspire young players is second to none. The way they teach fundamentals, encourage creativity, and build confidence is laying a foundation for future stars. With their talent and commitment, it would not surprise us one bit to see players they’ve coached one day reaching MLS, the Premier League, Serie A, or even the Champions League.

Beyond soccer, Ancaster Legacy builds character. The emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect has been just as important as the on-field skills. The families and community around the club are welcoming and supportive, making it a great experience for parents too.

We can’t say enough good things about this club. If you’re looking for a place where your child will develop as both a player and a person, while being part of an amazing team environment, Ancaster Legacy is the place to be. We’re already excited for next season!

⭐ A Phenomenal First Year with ALFC! ⭐ My son just wrapped up his first season with the 2010 Boys Regional Competitive Team, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Coaches Adam and Rob are nothing short of exceptional—fully committed to the boys' growth both on and off the field. Their dedication to communication, player development, and team culture goes above and beyond—truly 120% invested.

The program itself is incredibly well-run, offering a wealth of extra training opportunities that have helped elevate my son's skills and confidence. What really sets ALFC apart is the community: the boys are driven and supportive, and the parents help foster a genuinely positive, uplifting environment.

If you're looking for a competitive soccer program that blends elite coaching with a strong sense of camaraderie and development, ALFC is the gold standard. Highly, highly recommend!

The negative reviews speak for themselves. This program is extremely disorganized and poorly managed. I was told by the Director, Chris, that I would receive a credit for the remainder of the season because my 3.5-year-old is so unhappy that he now refuses to attend. However, when I followed up to remind him of his offer, he denied it.

His response was dismissive and out of touch, saying, “It’s only $10/week”—a comment that came across as entitled and completely uncalled for. He has no idea what my financial situation is, and frankly, that kind of remark is both unprofessional and unnecessary. At the very least, he should stop making promises he doesn’t intend to keep.

Unorganized. Chaotic every day. Coach who is a parent I would assume has his other older kids kicking balls at 3 year old kids. Good location of field and uniforms nice but the program sucks.
