School has always been dreadful for me, I never graduated high school. I found AOLCC and enrolled in the CSW/AW certificate program. I thought I was doing the right thing for myself. Turns out, $15k in debt later only to find out that the content they teach is 10 YEARS OUT OF DATE! And the Kamloops campus specifically has barely communicated with me regarding my course loads, end time, and other issues I’ve had. I’ve had texts left on delivered for a week, emails unreturned. This scary commitment I embarked on 1 year ago has turned into regret and disappointment. The least I could’ve gained from this was useful information to apply to my career but how is any of this information useful if it’s based on data collected a decade ago. The only silver lining to this was having Meredith collyer and Ashley legget teach us. And even they would go on to say how it’s hard because all the information is so out of date. I regret choosing AOLCC, and now I’m in debt because of it. Take this money and implement a higher level of education for the future students. Because I’m disappointed and will never personally recommend someone to enroll with this college.

Amazing College! I literally cannot say enough good about this school. The teachers are absolutely wonderful and the staff work with you to make the enrolment process as easy as possible with no stress at all. AOLCC is a fantastic college.

What I'm most impressed with nearing the end of my first year is that the structure of the learning is well planned / thought out. I've seen and have taken part in other online courses only to be bombarded with basically prints from a text book. You read it, regurgitate it, and the money you pay seems like you overpaid for a text book with questions rather than a learning experience.

With AOLCC they keep a familiar structure throughout the whole course that uses visuals, reading, exercises, and even auditory type learning. They seem to keep it in a similar pattern as you progress and give you opportunities to retry an exam. This is how most schools should evolve in my opinion. It allows the student the opportunity to fix their mistakes, go back and find information they may have missed and learn something while doing it. Rather than most schools where you study, take a test, regurgitate information and get a score only to never follow up or touch base on the information again. AOLCC shows you what you got wrong and guides where to find that information in your book. This method of teaching really drives the information you're trying to learn in your mind. It sparks that "oh no, I got it wrong" alarm bells in your head. But gives you the opportunity to rectify it and therefore when you find the answer it seems to "stick" much more than it did the first time around.

Overall, thus far, I'm happy with the structure and learning process. Especially compared to other institutions.

This school didn’t have what I was looking for, but the academic advisors were amazing. If you feel lost or stuck I’d highly recommend calling them. Judy was epic and such a huge asset to the school, full of life knowledge and such kindness. Terry was the most hands on and took so much care of me. As a women it was amazing to also speak to other women. I cried, laughed shared frustrations and joys with both of them. They helped me and that’s what this is all about. Just helping each other.

This campus is amazing, work on your own schedule for the most part! The girls on campus are very helpful and accommodating! They will go above and beyond to help while and after your graduation! Education is always a good thing but where you choose to go has to fit your already busy schedule. For myself, this was the perfect fit! Thank you ladies your the best!

I would recommend the Academy of Learning Career College. My personal experience was very rewarding. I found the staff to be very helpful and supportive. I did the Community Service Worker Diploma Program in the end I opted to take the Capstone Project. That was very rewarding as it gave me more of an opportunity to research available resources which are key in this industry. I learned more about myself and what my interests were and my strengths and weaknesses. I researched three possible populations that I might like to work with. I learned so much about each one of them. I am very pleased with the outcome of this program and look forward to going through each and everyone of the doors that it has opened for me.
