Waited almost 2 years to see a doctor from here in regards to an Autism diagnosis, only to get told I don't have it. The doctor acted aggressively towards me and my family which scared me into masking myself, nearly making me cry. Ultimately defeating the whole purpose of me being there. For the record, I am now diagnosed from a different doctor some place else who actually listened to me and wasn't so strict towards me. I am now rushing to get into the OAP because I have less than a month left as opposed to having 3-4 years of time. Also, to maybe try to get put on medication for ADHD, I was told to send faxes. Absolutely no response. Total waste of almost 2 years.

The staff are amazing. They listened to my concerns and were very attentive to my daughters needs. They offer great services, including home visits. My daughter had a wonderful experience there. She didn't require inpatient care, only out patient testing and follow ups. It was definitely worth the wait. It really is a great facility. Sure it looks a bit creepy to some people but honestly, I found it very historical and interesting. It's definitely not the same place it was originally built for. I had no concerns going there at all. They have a great team. Highly recommended.

I was put here when I was a child, because of my "behavior" issues, and I was abused verbally by the staff there. My case worker straight up sniffed me and told me I "f-ing stank" right after I got out of the shower and indeed, did clean myself. I was forced to have a secondary shower. The man who brought us to school every day, was ignorant, and rude to us, and honestly it was the worst experience of my life. DO NOT send your child here! The ONLY good experience i had was leaving the girls unit to visit sith the Art Therapist!

I would strongly suggest not seeing Dr. Mirza. He has drafted two reports for our son and they fully contradict each other. One is accurate and the other seems to be about another patient. It takes him months to provide inaccurate reports filled with errors (both about character of the patient and general English errors). He is unprofessional and I would not suggest him as a Dr.

My experience wasn't pleasant. I went there when I was 15 and they literally told my school to ignore my mental health issues. Mostly because they believed I was faking whatever I went through.

Though I don't blame them because I don't seem to fit into one mental health category. Even to this day!

But them telling the school to dismiss it, caused me to be in physical danger and get casted out. If I just have one thought of suicide they would send me to the hospital without trying to rationalize with me or teach me to calm down. They would treat me like a puppy or small child.

But overall it wasn't that bad because I at least had a fun time there. And I am glad I got help when I needed it.

Horrible organization. If you care about your kids keep them away from these people they will destroy your child

Was there in 2011. Misdiagnosed me for one. As an adult the diagnosis was ridiculous when externally re-evaluated. The staff had long since given up on the kids, clearly worn down by all the ones with anger issues — severe anger issues. They should have never been mixed in with us, as it fostered an environment too much like juvenile detention, rather than for healing and growing. Dissapointed. Upset at my mother for putting me there, but she was having her own issues.

I was there in 1990 for 5 months and had a relatively good experience. A few minor incidents but nothing abusive. Staff always treated me with respect and dignity regardless of the little jerk i acted like. This is not to say that abuse didn't happen as there were many different wards that i never saw and not to mention the 40 other years. I was in many institutions before i changed my life and there was no doubt abuse at many of them. I was disappointed to hear of the abuse as i always had good things to say.
