Community of Hearts is a small organization that provides a big range of programs for adults with developmental disabilities. As a not-for-profit they manage to provide skill building and purpose to individuals
in a fun social, recreational, and community based setting. From social enterprise to cooking to volunteering at other organizations and more; participants can experience a wide range of activities in a supportive, respectful, and friendly environment. The staff are capable, kind and creative and they make every effort to connect participants in relevant and useful ways to the community around them. Passport funding does not cover enough, but COH is very much worth the cost. It is the favourite place for our son to be, and an asset that Guelph can be proud of.

The wonderful team at Community of Hearts has created a welcoming and supportive hub to help people gain life skills and independence. Their day programming offers excellent learning opportunities for healthy living, nature, and arts. They also host fun and relevant social events throughout the year. I would always recommend anyone who is looking to connect with a community of like-minded and caring individuals to find it at COH. Their outreach and involvement within the Guelph community is so valuable and they bring great joy and compassion into everything they do. Check out their tasty chocolate treats made in the Boxes of Hearts kitchen!

I have volunteered for community of hearts several times over the years, and have always been very impressed by the programs they offer their participants. Always educational and fun in their delivery, participants get the best of both during every experience. The facility is well equipped with a big kitchen and gym where participants are able to learn different life skills to help them lead a well balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. I love community of hearts and all that they offer and would highly recommend their volunteer programs for anyone interested in lending a helping hand.

I am so impressed that such a small group of dedicated individuals can organise and run such an immensely worthwhile and necessary programme. COH exists to help people with disabilities enhance their skills for independence and self-advocacy giving them the chance to increase community engagement and decrease the isolation they so often experience.
We are very fortunate to have a charitable organisation like COH in Guelph, and I highly recommend that you spread the word to anyone who might be interested.
