I just saw a horrible review for the distance ed accounting course on here so I thought I would hop on and leave my two cents because I was surprised by it and thought my comment could help out. I'm in the distance Accounting Technician program and have taken 5 courses with OK college so far, and I'm really loving it. I haven't experienced any disorganization, the content has been great, and I like the teachers. Plus, they respond in a timely manner, and the prices are reasonable. I don't have anything negative to say about it so far. Would recommend if you're looking for a vocational program. The only downside is that I can't really ladder into an academic program towards a diploma/degree, but it is vocational, so that's something to consider.

Currently taking online distance education for Accounting, I was planning on taking the bookkeeping course right afterwards but with how horrendously organized, planned, and executed the Accounting course has been I don't think I will.
Course was completely shifted, different instructor than planned right out of the gate, material was changed, course schedule completely redone with only a week left to finish the course which CUT FOUR WEEKS off the original course schedule we were told to follow to a T. Now it's time for exams, absolutely no communication on dates, emails not being answered and none of the exam instuction videos they provided are accurate on anything to do with our current course. This is the most poorly designed and unprofessional distance ed course I have ever seen.

I just got my fourth year electrical through here and would not recommend taking any classes here at all. Actually did 1st-4th. Its ran like a business more than a college. Seems like they want you to fail so they can get your money again. I redid second year because i failed a standardized level exam. Then i find out that some people had 2 chances to write. Which was never given to me. They just wanted my full tuition again. Some of the teachers are great, dean of trades is an awesome dude. Others such as jeremiah williamson are terrible. Never have i met someone that talks so condescending. Seems to have a god complex or something, and he isn’t even a good teacher. Out of my 16 person class, not a single person liked him. The school can email out a survey if they want proof! If I missed class and tried to catchup. He would refuse to give me the assignment I missed out of pettiness. He pulled me out of the class and accused me of cheating on a test that I failed. Even treated the females in our class noticeably different. If you can avoid okanagan college all together. I would recommend doing so. If you can avoid taking 4th year electrical with Jeremiah. Do it! He’s weird and narcissistic

I would highly recommend the Automotive coarse at College of the Okanagan. The shop is very well set up and the price is reasonable. But the main reason I would recommend this program is not the facilitie but the teacher, Andrew Ross. He is still up to date with the current Automotive challenges, because he still works a day a week in penticton, and his teaching style is clear and easy to absorb. His sense of humor makes classes very enjoyable and keeps you engaged in the content. Thank you for all the knowledge and advice you have Shared Andrew!

For how much tuition is the wifi on campus is an absolute joke. For the people who can't see the whiteboard easily its much better to follow the course using moodle on your laptop and for the 10 week course I think I've got to use my laptop half the time (laptop was required for course) fix your internet issues.

I've been at the college for a long time, (bachelor of business degree, now practical nursing) and I rue having to call or go the registrar office / operator for anything. I rarely have a good experience on the phone or in person. It feels as though they deal with so many people (and perhaps deal with a lot of dumb questions?) that they lose the person-centered aspect of their customer service job. The office staff come off as rude and impatient to me most of the time. Anyways, I just got off the phone with one of the staff who was raising her voice to me for no reason and I just have to give a heads up if you're sensitive to how people talk to/treat you.
