This school is not the best school at all. On the first week at A.E.Cross school my child and her friend were already being bully and they didn't even call me to let me know but, they call the other parents i had to find out myself becauseof what my childwas doing to herself. My child was bullied because of her skin color, her hair, and body. So, to me, this school allows bullying and is full of racism. Even some of the staff members are racis, too. and the principal doesn't even call parents to let them know what's happening with their children.

It's not the worst school in the world and as I went there for 3 years I would know, but some of the kids can suck and the the teachers aren't very stable as I have had multiple long term subs in a year

It has gone downhill since the 2017-18 school year and continues to get worse, but there are indeed some amazing teachers that make it all worthwhile, balancing it out. I actually look forward to seeing those teachers. However, keep in mind that there is still a lot of bad. Just to inform you:

* There is no longer performing arts or ANY factor of it
* Highly sports oriented school, however our mandatory PE program isn't the greatest
* A lot of bad apples at this school makes it kind of difficult to not follow in their footsteps. Be prepared for all sorts of jokes, stories and comments that would be XXX Rated.
* If you want to take band, start in grade seven and trust me on that.
* School trips are all VERY expensive, so if you're in grade seven and want to sail or go to band camp, start saving now. I'm not exaggerating.
* A lot of the teachers seemed terrible. They really did. However, just talk to them. Despite your brooding hatred, many of them are very likeable once you get to know them. I think it's just general advice- get to know your teachers. Many of them are quite forgiving if you decide to change for the better.
* Most of the humanities teachers are amazing and remarkable and do brilliant jobs. I think that's where AE Cross went right.
* Science and maths teachers- in grade seven and nine, they're all amazing; in grade eight, you're kind of stuck with average teachers (sorry, grade eight)

That's about everything I can list off the top of my head. It's very easy to make friends with a common interest here (but trust me- focus on your work, not the boys talking about their money three seats to your left).

Overall, kind of bad, but with a few of the greatest teachers I'll ever have the fortune to meet.

This school is not bad but I noticed that kids from Battalion Park School are so much smarter than the other elementary school so I wonder if the education value is lowered to these other kids but I doubt anyways it's a great school with great teachers but some are ridiculous and scold at kids for no reason. Anyways it's a great school and wish the best of luck for this school. 🙂

A.E Cross is an average Junior High School that teaches students the basic criteria for grade 7-9. A.E Cross was a huge disappointment when I first went to this school I thought it would be an awesome school until I found out that the work and lessons they taught were so easy. Most or almost all the teachers don't push the students, what I mean by this is that they don't teach the students the way they should be taught. The assignments were sometimes too easy and some teachers never assign homework. Just because a student is done all his/her work, they could give a little bit of homework each day because most students usually go home with no home with no homework. The school does teach the students the basic requirements that is required for the grade but they should dig a little deeper and push these kids so that they can learn. I noticed that Battalion Park students are SO MUCH smarter than the other students. Why? Because Battalion Park pushed and trained these kids to be ready for Junior High unlike the other school. That last sentence was not to offend the students who didn't go to Battalion Park but it's an observation, even if you didn't go to Battalion Park you still could be smarter than most of them. Just my opinion. I know there is a lot of hate in this review but I am just saying this for future parents, students, teachers and school to keep in mind. Also I think the school is not pushing these students hard enough is because since there are more simple learners than clever students. The school doesn't want the students failing the exams because it reflects the schools learning value so they make the exams easier. So if this school wants to improve in the future they better step up their game and push the students to be intelligent.

The School itself is okay. It definitely needed a renovation as parts of the building looked dated. Most staff were friendly, but there has been some conflict between Students and staff in the past few years.
