During the changes of administration over the last several years AJ has taken a deep and terrible turn for the worse! The outright criminal behaviour that carry’s on at this school now is absolute atrocity. Not only among the students, but among the narcissistic wrath of the principal and a few of his admirers on the faculty team! A review read from those previous to this one says much about him specifically. If you’re present in the community and are hands on involved with these children and their parents, it will yield knowing full well exactly how prominent a problem this is becoming. There is zero accountability for certain misappropriation of manageability within the school atmosphere leading to zero accountability for outright BAD behaviour from students to other students. With suicide statistics among youth skyrocketing in current years the allowance of any bullying by the student (AND by their supposed leadership, in complete exasperation and absolute inability to preform said job with any poise and skill) makes me deeply fear for the future of the Sackville High family of schools in these coming years! Several student “attendees” don’t even attend school daily for the severity of escalating tormenting among peer groups and onto certain students seemingly chosen specifically, targeted and attacked with vicious regularity! Several. Students. Do. Not. Attend. School. Because. They. Do. Not. Feel. Safe. Maybe if ONE kid often had irregular attendance because of anxiety/mental health, physical illness, autism, etc. or even the bullying…… possibly it could be a matter needing little attention brought forth. However, when a consistent, growing number has expressed the same reasons for failure to attend I believe the failure therein lies within that schools ability to provide a safe and healthy environment to educate these children. If we are not our children’s advocates, who is?! I hope even more parents of children at AJ begin to stand up and speak out on behalf of your sons and daughters here, publicly as I am now; the same way you’ve spoken to me privately about some of the same struggles you’re experiencing. These kids are the future. Give them the right “food” (book learning, EMOTIONAL learning, accountability, proper student adaptations and discipline) to promote the BEST POSSIBLE ATMOSPHERE for educational growth for ALL the students! The open reviews about favouritism is not an inaccurate assessment. Although I think it’s less about favouritism and more about lack of ability, desire and motivation to take actual action; laziness for Layman's comparison sake in my non-professional opinion. Another non-professional opinion is that certain criteria should be mandated in the head master of any educational institution, being a parent should absolutely be one of the requirements! This may not have always been my stance but after the experience we have had over my 15 years as a parent with children in the public school system my stance has changed considerably! If not that, than a strenuous skill implementation program with references and educator recommendations for the position in which these people are being entrusted. I’m not saying being a parent makes you a better principal……… well, yes I am, I suppose. The intimate experience with children that you love and would sacrifice anything to serve and protect, really does, absolutely give us a deeper insight into the needs of the children in the public schools! There is a finesse and patience needed when working with any vulnerable group. How much more vulnerable than children?! This transparent review is only going to be one of many progressive forward action motions that I, myself personally, am taking on behalf and in full support of MY child’s (and yours) best interests and their most successful path forward toward the future! If you don’t stand for something; you will fall for anything! If you see something, say something! What’s done in the darkness always is brought to light. Stay Well Friends!
