Booked a room for one of my drivers he was pleased with there service at the front desk and the room was clean .
I’ve call the front desk booked the room the lady was very professional and friendly and also gave us corporate rates.

First of all, this is an older hotel in a small town. It’s not a resort. As long as you have this in mind it’s a great place to stay for a few nights. Everything was clean and in good condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. One thing to be aware of is that sour credit card was preauthorized for a $300 damage deposit on our credit card in addition to the cost of the room upon check-in. The damage deposit was waived upon checking out.||Our room was a suite which had a bedroom with two double beds as well as a couch in the living room which folded out into another double bed. As mentioned in other reviews, the mattresses were harder and probably older, but we were all able to sleep comfortably.||Our suite had a kitchenette, which included a stove and oven, a full sized fridge with freezer, and a two slice toaster. There is no microwave in the room, but there is one in the lobby for guests to use. The room also had a large tv and and air conditioner. As I understand it, not all rooms have an air conditioner, so be sure to ask for a room that has one upon check-in if that is important to you. An ice machine was conveniently located in the hallway.||This hotel does not have an elevator, so be aware of that if stairs are an issue for you.||The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is easy to find right off the main highway as you’re coming in to Mackenzie. Located across the street from the hotel is a 7-eleven store, and the community recreation centre. There is a skatepark outside the rec centre as well as a dirt track and hill for biking next to the mall.||The hotel is connected to the only shopping mall in town, which includes a grocery store, and other shops. Restaurants and shops are within short walking distance.||The beach at Morfee Lake is a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the hotel. At Morfee Lake there are hiking trails as well as a beach with a doc.||Little Mac ski hill and toboggan hill are located in Mackenzie next to Morfee lake, again walking distance from the hotel.||Powder King ski hill is a 45 minute drive.||Overall I would recommend the Alexander Mackenzie Hotel as a good clean, quiet place to stay if you are visiting Mackenzie BC. We would certainly stay here again.||Family of 5 stayed Aug 5-6, 2024

Like others have said if you want working wifi dont come here. The room is like stepping 20 years back in time.

We originally had booked this hotel for June 08-10, but end up staying only one night. We had booked a room with two queen beds and we were told that the room would have all the amenities. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm on Friday night and unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations and made our one night stay a bitter experience. It was a hot day and the air conditioning in the room wasn't working. The front desk clerk was unable to accommodate us when we requested for another room. We were told that the air conditioning system in half of their rooms hasn't been working. I had booked the room a month in advance and it wasn't mentioned at that time. We also noted an additional door behind the small fridge, unsure why it wasn't locked or if that door was being accessed by the room next door. The sink in the bathroom kept getting clogged. The toilet would not flush properly, you had to hold the handle down longer in order to flush the toilet. The shower head had build up of calcium and none of us wanted to take shower. There was no hair dryer, microwave in the room. A small coffee machine was available in the room but with very limited supplies, enough to make one cup of coffee in the morning. We weren't able to find another place to stay that night as it was a busy weekend with sports tournaments. We will be reporting our concerns to the BC hotel association. We did manage to find another hotel in the morning, it was such an unpleasant experience that we will never stay at this hotel in the future.

Do you like basic amenities? Working wifi? A hot coffee in the morning? A microwave so you can have a hot meal after a long day? A tended to room? Pick a different hotel because this one doesn't have ANY of that! I was told by a staff member that the same person owns all the hotels in town but do yourself a favor and pick one of the others because none of the issues were resolved with staff despite it being brought up multiple times.

We were pleased with our stay at this hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely pleased to have us there. When we missed our room cleaning due to our own fault, the front desk staff were quick to give us replacement towels etc. |It was so nice to have laundry services in the building and fresh coffee in the foyer each morning. |The building is older,but we never saw anything in disrepair.|A bonus is having the hotel attached to the main mall in town. In inclement weather, you need never leave the mall to eat, get groceries or shop. |Breakfast is included with a coupon for the restaurant down the hallway. This would be the only negative of our stay in MacKenzie. It was Continental style,but our experience was that the same muffins ( or half muffins) and 3 loaves of bread were presented every day with only one choice of cereal and milk that was not cold and appeared to have been sitting on the table since the breakfast was open that morning. Juice was offered, but again, it was room temperature as it wasn't sitting in ice. We decided to forego breakfast after a while, but were told we could use the coupons for lunch or dinner so we ended up doing that. I realize this part of the review is about a restaurant that isn't part of the hotel, but it is included.||We were very comfortable in the hotel and would recommend it.

Yes this is an older hotel. However, efforts have obviously been made to update it. The room I stayed in had AC, a new TV and the WiFi is much better than the other hotels in town. The rooms are large and comfortable, though the awkward placement of outlets can be an issue if you have lots of equipment to plug in. My kitchen didn't have a microwave too, which is a bit strange for a hotel kitchen. When I checked in, the front desk staff were also rather rude. Still, it is arguably the best hotel in town.

If hard beds are your thing then this is the place for you, ideally the beds are not great. Rooms where clean but the cook wear in the kitchenettes where not the greatest. Service was on a on call basis but it was close to the grocery and liquor store. Not the worst but could use improvement.
