Completely misled by Toyota Ancaster — would strongly advise others to be cautious.

As a doctor who recently moved to Canada, I trusted this dealership to be transparent and honest — especially since I don’t have deep knowledge about vehicles. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced.

I purchased a 2016 RAV4 based on the assurance from Kyle (the salesperson) that the car had no rust and had been rust-proofed. I asked specifically about rust, and this was clearly denied. After taking delivery, I discovered significant rust on the roof, boot, doors, and other visible areas — far beyond what can be called normal wear for a 9-year-old car.

When I raised this with Mr. Azhan Sheikh, the Sales Manager, I was told they could just "use a paint pen" to cover it up — a completely inadequate and dismissive response. I even wrote to Mr. Darren Moore, the General Manager, but received no action or concern.

The rust was discovered within just seven days of delivery. On one hand, the dealership claims it's "normal wear and tear" — yet if that were truly the case, why are they unwilling to take the vehicle back? The answer is simple: because it’s not normal.

They misled me during the sale, and now, rather than doing the right thing, they are choosing to dismiss my concerns over a few thousand dollars. It’s deeply disappointing to see a dealership compromise its integrity for such a small amount.

Despite my willingness to return the vehicle or exchange the car or select something else from their inventory within my budget, they refused to take responsibility or offer any resolution. The attitude changed completely the moment the sale was done. They are not transparent, not customer-focused, and definitely not credible.

I will be filing formal complaints with OMVIC and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), as I believe this is a clear case of misrepresentation. It is a shame that a dealership of this size and reputation operates in this manner.

I strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Toyota Ancaster — especially if you're relying on them for honest guidance.

So essentially, you’re putting rusted cars up for sale without informing customers, and if they don't notice, it becomes their problem—you take no responsibility. You're saying the car just needs to pass a basic safety check, and that's enough to sell it? In that case, what’s the benefit of buying from a dealership at all? Might as well go to a private seller or a small dealer and pay less.
That’s exactly my point. Either this is being done intentionally, or your technicians aren't thorough enough to catch these issues. On top of that, the communication was extremely poor—no returned calls or messages. I have enough evidence to expose the real practices of this management.
You were quick to respond when it came to selling the car, but once an issue came up after the sale, there was complete silence. That says a lot.
You don't even have the confidence to take the car back, because deep down you know no one else would buy it—unless, of course, they made the mistake of trusting you like I did. And once that trust is broken, that's it.

Being a customer for almost decade, love this dealership for all their reputation of being professional in customer service and maintenance.
For the past few years I've seen decreasing in services:
. Forgetting to reset the system after swapping winter/all season tires
. Loosing the valve caps after adjusting tire pressure
. Not being able to balance the tires after 3 hours
. Forgetting to set the reminder for next service

All and all I still be choosing Ancaster toyota over others in hamilton area with the hope of increasing their service and make us proud customers 👏👍

Last year, we purchased our 2024 RAV4 Hybrid from Ancaster Toyota and were very pleased that we were able to find this vehicle during a high demand period. I recently made a second maintenance appointment and was again extremely pleased with their customer service, professionalism and attention to detail! I enjoyed a vabulous cup of coffee while I waited and was even able to complete some work on my laptop thanks to their WiFi service. The whole time I was there, I felt like a valued customer! I just had to write a review for my incredible experience at this Toyota dealership. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with respect and kindness, but the real star of the show was my sales agent, Pete.

Pete was everything you could want in a car-buying partner: patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping me find the perfect car. He listened carefully to what I was looking for and never pressured me. He took the time to explain all the features of the different models and answered my endless questions with a smile.
