Nurses are so poorly understaffed to the point that they are helping the cooks in the kitchen prepare meals. It's starting to show in the quality of care as the stresses make once good nurses care even less about their job or the work they are doing. How or why they become nurses if they are just going to be miserable and short tempered is beyond me, you're in the wrong field of employment. They are supposed to be making rounds on a timed basis and I don't believe it is being done. The list goes on and on. I'm told that the privatization of this location is what brought it's slow and cancerous demise. The greedy company clearly isn't managing it properly if they are this short staffed, time to trim the fat at the top. Clean the carpets for godsake, I know for a fact that place was quoted to have the carpets cleaned years ago and it was said to be too expensive, they look really rough. As for a maintenance man, does he know what he is doing? The place looks like it's in shambles. That is supposed to be the homes of many vulnerable people and it looks like it isn't taken care of. I know for a fact you could probably dedicate an upper management's salary to maintaining the facility and nothing will change.. You need some sort of security for the front door if you are to house alzheimers and dementia patients.

The good is there are a lot of sweet nurses, the bad is who owns that building and runs it like it's a fast food business.

I could write a book on this but only have so much room. First of all not impressed that AHS support staff were shown the door & lower paid staff brought in when private company Chartwell took over. Nursing staff are still AHS employees and most are good. Made many complaints about items missing from my mother's room which all fell on deaf ears. All of the clothing items that walked away were brand new, so it's hard to believe it was other "confused" patients taking things, although that was usually who the staff blamed. One expensive item that I repeatedly asked about I finally found hidden when moving my mother's things out. Once Chartwell took over, things certainly went downhill. Asked for a snack for my mom one day as she was hungry before dinner and was told "no more snacks, Chartwell won't pay for them". Was never a problem to get a granola bar or yogurt before. The nursing staff were bringing in a few items out of their own pocket at this point. Over $2K a month & an elderly woman who is hungry can't even get a granola bar. Awesome. My mother ended up passing away. I gave 2 weeks written notice and began moving things out. Went back for last few things, including some furniture, 3 days before the end of the month and all items except furniture were gone. Disposed of they said because sometimes ppl don't come back for things. I found this a hard to believe excuse as the furniture was still there waiting to be picked up. Also the rent was paid until the end of the month and I did not receive any of it back, so the room should have still been ours. I did go in and voice my concerns over all of these issues. To date no one has contacted me. There were many other issues, falls, giving her a wheelchair which they knew the brakes didn't work on, etc but I don't have all day. My advice - If you are able to, avoid private care facilities. Get your loved one into a Government run building where there is some accountability when you have problems.

What life, the U of A and a remote brain injury rehab centre could not achieve in over a year, this place managed in a day. I'd say 0 stars but l cannot. Congratulations.

I had a loved one there it looks good on the outside but there are many things i could say about the inner workings there of
Unsanitary conditions .Callous staff (most but not all) and a few down right scary situations that happened . to say i wouldnt recomend it would be an understatement .
