There is not a single sentence in the language of English in their textbooks that teaches youth students about financial literacy skills and competencies and in return makes them go through misleading trial and error after graduation.

If you don't care about what your children learn and think, the basic 3 R's are not the most important aspect to you, then BC Education system may fit the bill.
But if you want to have your children learn about all the possible genders there are and that a child can be whatever classification they choose to fit into, BC is your place. SOGI (Social Orientation Gender Identification) is taught without informing you the parent This is what you and your child will be subject to whether you like it or not!

the schools are more like prison then a place to learn. The some teachers are physically and verbally abusive. the curriculum is more then useless and makes me crave death more and more with every passing day. other then that it's pretty good.

I am pleased to hear that the education system is now focusing on analytical skills instead of straight memorization skills. In university, even calculus is involved in memorizing rules and formulas. Those rules and formulas can be programmed into software and have computers follow the rules and formulas in calculations. That is why after students finish those courses, they soon forget what they have learned. If you can cut all the straight memorization in universities, getting a degree and having the ability to innovate only takes TWO YEARS! Understanding fundamental science is the MOST important, forget about straight memorization that ONLY lasts for a week. The real test is at the work place. Can you innovate at the work place?

There are reports of teacher shortage, but how can that be possible? There are so many unemployed graduates every year from UBC and Simon Fraser University. Many of them are qualified to teach easy high school math, science, and arts. It is not that being a teacher requires innovation, especially in Canada where everyone follows guidelines and others' opinions. Therefore, please present the truth instead of lying to everyone and have people invest their time and money to become teachers in vain. In every profession, innovation and free thinking is required. I read Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity regarding the constant speed of light. I was doubtful about his theory. Just now, with new technology, scientists are proving that some of Einstein's theories are wrong. Therefore, in any profession, you really cannot straight memorize and follow others' opinions!

Canada is a country that promotes reverse discrimination. This is why Canada is behind in everything! When it comes to their teaching certificate for teachers, it is a complete fraud! The teaching certificate training is an OPINION based training and certification. You have to follow the author's OPINION for you to pass and become certified. The type of people who do well in those type of courses are those who cannot think freely and cannot innovate, but they are good at following other people's OPINIONS! Turns out that they are the worst teachers. Ideally, teachers must think freely and be able to innovate. Having the ability to think freely without relying on anyone's OPINION is crucial in every profession.

With OPINION based certification, the more the government regulates, the more the free thinkers / innovators are being eliminated!

For example, everyone has different ways of playing chess. Teacher's certification is almost like a requirement for everyone to follow the same chess moves in order to be certified. Where is the free thinking and the creativity in that? If someone does not agree with your chess moves, then you are not certified. Teachers who are good at following other's opinions are most likely to be straight memorizers. How do you expect straight memorization teachers to teach their students to think creatively? If you want teachers to teach their students to think creatively, then first you need to have creative thinking teachers. Having teachers following other's opinions as qualification is NOT how you get creative thinking teachers!

Lets decide base on evidence. Utah State, USA does NOT require teacher's certification to teach, but the Province of British Columbia does. Lets see who can produce better students who can innovate.

As far as opinions go, they are reference materials at the best. It is just like some people think the Liberals have the best policy, some people think the Conservatives have the best policy, while other people think the NDP have the best policy. Those are opinions, and you can either agree or disagree, but qualifications should NOT be based on what one's opinions are.

Ministry is terrible and should honestly look into rewriting everything. I'm a student who recently graduated and I received my final grades and all that only to find out my second semester marks were not even on there and neither were my final grades for exams. Terrible crappy school system that can't do one thing right. I hope private schools outdo the public system one day and they probably will.

We don't get actual grades until grade 9. The teachers do not have proper education to teach or the capabilities. So that is why I rate the bc ministry of education 1 star, I however would do 0 if possible

Almost got suspended for calling some kid gay in middle school. Most teachers are not qualified and have no idea what they are talking about.
